We did a full day tour with this company today. So well organized and very thing went easily throughout the day. Lunch was ok, not quite what I was expecting but not bad. Staff so helpful and the scenery beautiful.

The snorkling and water was perfect, but there is way to many tourists on the island which is a shame. The island are so beautiful, but the tourism is about to make that change. What a shame!

A great operation with smooth pick-up from hotel to pier (not the one we was told by the agent!) for quick snack (due to waiting 20mins for another guest to be picked up!) Quick brief collect kit although had our own, board boat for a nearly 2hr fast boat trip to the Surin Islands due to sea conditions.
3 back to back 1/2hr snorkel stops due to tide although 1 was only 200yrds away from the first stop! Plenty of diff fish to see and clear water. Lunch on beach and 1hr to enjoy the beach before trip over to the sea people village. Interesting. Worth a visit. 1.45hrs boat trip back before return to hotel.
Crew very helpful offering drinks and fruit after every dip and throughout the day. Well run operation. However not sure we would have picked this trip if we had known it would be such along boat trip (agent said it was 75min transfer not 120mins!) Pleased we did it though!

Booked this trip through my accommodation in Khao Lak for 2000 bt.

Well organised and at times very regimented. The Fantastic tour has it's own pier and large departure zone with a basic breakfast provided before departure. Toilets and showers available. Flippers mask and snorkel provided but suggest that you clean these yourself before using.

Our guide Gaga one of the ladyboy regulars was strident and bossy. Gave directions for the tour but not much information about the Similan islands environment. Around 45 people squeezed into a large speedboat for the 90 min trip to the first island.

Astounded by the huge numbers of other boats and thousands of tourists descending into the island of the national Park. Huge numbers of Chinese. There seems to be no limits on numbers. This creates a bottleneck with the boats trying to come into shore to let passengers off. Yes the water is crystal clear and the beaches white but the noise of others detracting from the natural beauty. Not to mention that the environmental cost of all that fuel, plastic food and drink containers etc.

The snorkeling is nothing special (for this Australian). There was no safety oversight on the boat although life jackets are provided most people didn't put them on. Some of the Chinese couldn't swim but were nonetheless putting very young children into the water to take selfies. Totally appalling and dangerous.

Whilst I was part of this mass tourism I would not do this trip in hindsight. The environmental costs are high and the government of Thailand should do everything to preserve the nature.

Overall an excellent day and so glad we decided to do.
Very well organised from start to finish with plan for the day clearly laid out. Boat and equipment seemed virtually brand new, staff very friendly- Nancy in particular a superstar!
Felt very safe throughout, the crew tried to find us snorkelling sites that were quiet. Drinks frequently provided.
The Similan islands are so beautiful

The only negative we have was the lunch. Felt like we were at school and what was provided wasn’t great. A big pot of curry- one meat and one veg would have been much better.

However lunch did not detract from our fab day, which was made even better by the pod of dolphins that followed our boat part of the way home!

Useful info-
If doing again we would have a more leisurely breakfast at our hotel and make our own way to the pier.
Toilets available at the pier and also at 2 of the islands we stopped at

What a great crew! Through no one’s fault, my wife was really sea sick on this trip (it happens a lot) and the whole crew did everything they could to help and make her feel better. Special mention goes to Khun Nancy, who was our official guide and so lovely!

The tour itself was fun and Similan Island is amazing, as good as anywhere else I’ve ever seen. It wasn’t too busy either, which was an added bonus…

If you’re in Phuket and have the time, I highly recommend this trip!

The only good thing about this trip is they kept to the timetable!! Breakfast supplied was good before the uncomfortable and very crowded boat trip. The speedboat holds 40 people on seats moulded into the base of the boat, no room to move or relax. You are unable to see out and the outboard motors are right behind you so the noise is unbearable. The snorkelling spots are busy, lunch was cold curry etc, it rained and there is no shelter at the lunch island. I didn't get any food as it had run out and felt unwell after the boat trip. We moved to another island beach which would have been beautiful if 800 other tourists hadn't arrived on boats!! The trip back was just as bad. Unless you are fit and agile getting on and off the boats is a problem. They did have a good afternoon tea of noodles, tea, coffee etc when we got back. Give this expensive trip a miss!! It has gone down in our trip adventures as one of the worst we have had!!! Don't bother and if you have kids it would be dreadful.

We went in with pretty low expectations as we read some really bad reviews on TA. We really wanted to do a little snorkeling trip tho and as all the tours seemed to have the same problems or issues, we booked the one that came cheapest, thanks to our hotel discount, at 2100 baht per person. Our low expectations made that we actually really enjoyed this trip. We got picked up by our driver right on time and brought to the a big covered hall next to the pier where a breakfast buffet was set up. We expected a shabby table with some quick snacks but it was actually a full breakfast with different options. After breakfast, your personal ladyboy/tour guide gives you some information and you are off for a quick picture and on to the boat. Do mind: you have to take off your shoes and don't get them back until you return to the pier. If I would have known I'd quickly bought some diving shoes in the shop at the breakfast hall. Anyway, off to the islands with a 1,5h speedboat trip. The sea was pretty rough and the boat smacked down pretty hard more than a couple of times. I don't get seasick (luckily) but some people really needed the plastic bags that were (thankfully ;) handed out up front. You are packed inside the boat so don't really get to see a lot of the trip; kind of a pity. First stop was island 8 for 1h free time and lunch. We already went snorkeling there and saw some interesting fish which caused us to miss lunch so can't comment on that one. Next to island 9, 40 min snorkeling off the boat. Then to island 4 for the same thing. Afterwards to the overcrowded beach for drinks and 1,5h back to the pier. Here we got coffee and dessert (which was basic but ok).
As all the other reviews say: don't expect a private tour. You are packed in a boat with other tourists and end up on islands with even more tourists. We did see some really nice fishes and a rather large octopus and really enjoyed our guide Gaga who did a pretty good job. The whole thing was well organized and timings were respected during the whole day, which is something we really appreciated. I would certainly advise Fantastic Similan Travel for this tour, just know up front what you are signing up for.
