About
Bang Niang Market is located in the center of Bang Niang which again is in the center of the Khao Lak area. The market is open Monday , Wednesday , Thursday and Saturday from 14:00 till 22:00. Be prepared for the wonderful and thrilling fresh and local street food which you will think about when you are hungry while you are back home. If you come for a couple of hours in the early evening you arrive when the market is most exciting and buzzing with activities. There are many stalls selling souvenirs, T-Shirts and local handmade handicraft. In the street food section you can find skewers, spring rolls, seafood, and many other kinds of fresh Thai food. In the produce section you can find many well-known fruits and vegetables as well as produce you can only find in Thailand.

Pancake man and mango sticky rice lady are a must - don’t miss out!
good market, more ‘tat’ shops than street food. What street food there is is very good, I would recommend the mango sticky rice stall and the pancake stall which are near the entrance. Toilets on site are very clean with a small surcharge of 10baht. food prices are on par with most cheaper restaurants so no massive deals to be had. But tasty none the less. it is one of the main things to do when in Khao lak so is a must if you’re visiting.

    Great experience
We went because of rainy day. In the end it was the best choice. There is a lot of options. But you can find really local products and services and support. You can buy food, fruit, drinks. You can go to barber. By the way best barber (Kun). And his daughter produce handmade bags. She does one big bag for three days. And they were both so nice and kind.. 🥰

    Market Fun
Loved our time in the markets. It was a large market with some walking required. Whilst many of the items can be found in other places it was fun to see the craft on display and being made on site. The food and drinks were perfect. Getting to and from the markets was seamless as all the taxi drivers work together supporting each other. It was a fun time..

    Worth a visit
The market is very large, but also very repetative in whats sold. Sarongs, tops, hats, bags, Thai soveniers and street food. If your looking for fake stuff, this is the place to go, but its not cheap. There is cheap fake and more expensive fake. I purchase a few hand bags and the fakes still cost me £30, so dont think your going to pick up a half decent louis vuitton for £20, you wont. Street food is fab, the choice is brilliant, that side of the market is really well worth a visit. Its vibrant, noisey and very busy. Food is reasonably price and tastey. I looked around the market and was there for over 2 hours and enjoyed every moment of it. Its well worth a visit.

Large, friendly market for food, clothes, and souvenirs.
The market was surprisingly big with plenty of clothes, souvenirs, etc., as well as food stalls. The atmosphere was lively and friendly. We felt perfectly comfortable with children aged 8 and 11. We were at the market from 6 - 8pm so we saw it during daylight and at night, with a lovely sunset.

A big market to satisfy all your needs
While staying in the area we visited it on a Monday night. A big market that spreads over a large area. Plenty of stalls to buy anything your heart desires. Eating places galore, heaps of clothes and souvenir shops all trying to get your business. As you walk around it all gets a bit repetitive, good competition I guess. I did notice toilet facilities there, I think you have to pay to use them. Worth a visit if your there on a day it is open.

Good market to buy souvenirs, clothes etc. Remember to bargain!
Nice little market with lots of souvenirs and clothes to buy. Open from 4 pm onwards on Mon-wed- Thurs and sat. Snacks and drinks were also easily available. We liked that this market wasn't crowded and the vendors were quite laidback and weren't in your face at all. Perhaps because the crowd was sparse and they were eager to make a sale, we also had an easier time bargaining with them. All in all, had a lovely well spent evening here.

    Fun family activity
This market is a fun twilight activity for the family to enjoy. Our young children were absorbed by the lights, people and stalls in this open air market. We arrived at 4:30pm which was perfect for us as the crowds were non-existent. As evening continued, the street food stalls became busier, but rather than feeling overwhelmed, we felt a buzz of excitement. There are so many stalls that range from food to clothing/accessories. Money exchange stalls are at the entrance to the market and there is a taxi rank out the front, which brings an ease of travel. We recommend visiting on a Monday/Wednesday/ Friday or Saturday or Sunday. Have fun shopping and eating!

Food was not that great and quite a bit repetitive. Quite busy and lots of the stalls were similar for food. I would honestly avoid.
We did purchase a few bags for the kids which were of good value.
