Gorgeous falls

A bit difficult to get there and the bridge was closed due to high water falling, but it was absolutely gorgeous. The best view is really over the dam even if it is a bit far.

Heading to Hetch Hetchy was well worth the trip. The hike is moderate for "older legs" and we certainly had wet feet after the round trip. Bring extra socks and a spare pair of sneakers in the car. It took us a couple of hours stopping along the way to take pictures. The falls are spectacular in April. We we... More

Spring is always the best time to visit waterfalls at Yosemite National Park as there is always a lot more water pouring over the falls from the snow melting. It takes 5 miles round-trip to get to Wapama Falls and back to Hetch Hetchy's parking lot. The hike is long but easy with great surrounding scenery. There are beautiful Hetch... More

Tioga Pass was closed by a rockslide so we diverted to Hetch Hetchy and hiked to Wapama Falls. The trailhead sign said the trail was closed. Ignore and go. Take sunscreen, water and bug repellent. We are 66 and 67 and did the almost 6 mile RT hike in 3 hours. Check other reviews for more information just wanted to... More

We were there in the end of September and the was has all dried up. The snow fields have all melted and there was no water over the falls. Long drive to miss seeing the water.

Hetch Hetchy is a remote part of Yosemite National Park, far away from the crowds of people f you are looking for a little solitude at Yosemite National Park, Leave the crowds of Yosemite Valley behind and find your way to the Hetch Hetchy region.. It's remote location (a two hour drive from Yosemite Valley) means you will be sharing... More

We went past the Falls. What a beautiful trail. It was way less crowded than the valley trails. Worth the trip and a beautiful spot. Too bad people still go into the falls, even though they say not to.

The 2.6 mile one way hike was worth the effort. You could see the falls at the dam but it was better close up. There was another waterfall before Wapama but it was only a trickle when we went. So by July after all the snow melts there may not be any waterfalls. Bring plenty of water!! There is not... More

Although several people told me it was a flat trail, as a woman in her sixties, it was not. However, it was worth hiking to Wapama Falls. The views are wonderful and the trail varied in difficulty. It was not very crowded, and you could pace your hike as you like. It took us about 5 hours there and back.... More

The hardest part of this trek is the long drive down to Hetch Hetchy reservoir. The hike is pretty flat and pretty easy. The waterfall at the end is beautiful and will cool you down. We had nice wildflowers on the way as well. Views are great.
