This trail gives you the opportunity to see the valley sights from close up and yet still be close to road access. Views of El Capitan were spectacular. Despite the park being crowded the trail was amazingly quiet. After passing El Capitan don’t take the...More

We went October 1-4 to avoid most of the busy season and because of the fall colors and we weren’t disappointed! The park was still busy but very pleasant and not to crowded. The weather was cloudy but no rain and visibility was great. We...More

The Loop takes you past some of the best landmarks in the valley. The path is pretty flat and one of the best ways to see some of the big landmarks in the valley. We did parts of it due to time constraints. We did...More

If you want to see some of the park’s great views but can’t hike or want to stay away from the crowds then walk the Valley View loop trail. It is a nice walk with awesome views. I saw people driving and stopping at different...More

decent hike - flat, long, with lots to see in the first half - we did the whole loop and regretted it, really not much to see towards the outer edges, wish we'd done the half-loop and then climbed the falls or something instead. lucky...More

My 10 year old daughter and I hiked the loop. It was so nice to get away from the buzz of the more popular trails. We found it was marked just fine and had a map. We loved the tranquil time by the Merced River...More

We hiked this trail after having done Upper Yellowstone Falls and the Panoramic Trail. This was our easy day. The trail is not nearly as interesting, though you can detour to Lower Yosemite Falls Trail and get nice views to El Captain. The trail is...More

This is an easy trail that you can use to connect different trails or a s trail of its own. It goes from being a bit plain to quite beatiful and it's ideal for people who don't feel like taking harder trails. We only walked...More

An interesting hike that passes many of the valley’s highlights. Not too difficult other than the length. Note that it can be cut in half if you tire. However, the trail is, in at least three places, not marked. Definitely carry a map with you...More

It's beautiful, but paved for the majority of the way. Which can be a problem for those with plantars fascitis or joint issues. A lot of the trails in and out of the valley are paved.

Evergreen Lodge is OUTSIDE of Yosemite National Park. It's about an hour drive to Yosemite Valley. Ask your questions on the Yosemite forum where many folks will be able to reply.
