Expansive, gorgeous views of another aspect of Yosemite. Do stop there on your way over Tioga Road, but be prepared for hordes of other travelers.

Our guide Rick, suggested and pointed out the area of this beautiful part of the park. While we were at Glacier Point the day before, he suggested that we visit this place along the Tioga Road. It was well worth it. The scenery was as...More

On the way into Yosemite it was foggy, so we could not really see what this spot offered. Luckily, on the way out, it was sunny with a blue sky so we could see the majestic views at this spot. It had been recommended by...More

We could not hike as it was getting late and we were with small children, we enjoyed being there but I think hike only can justify enjoying this beautiful place

Another very popular viewing point which gives a different view of Half-dome . There is plenty of slickrock around this viewpoint that many people have a wander around, a bit of rock climbing without the need for equipment. This can also get really busy so...More

The drive along Highway 120 (Tioga Road) between Yosemite Valley and Tuolumne Meadows features beautiful views and scenery, but it’s a little long (about 90 minutes) and there’s usually a point at which everyone in the car would like to stop, get out, stretch and...More

An obvious stop point when driving Tioga Road, with nice views just a stone’s throw from the car park. There is a distant view of Half Dome but it’s nice just to sit atop the smooth rocks and enjoy the view for a while.

OK, this was a find I wasn't familar with, not on my short-list of things to do/see while staying in Yosemite, especially in the Valley. This is a bit of a drive, but what a drive! While concierge and many park workers suggested "for sunsets"...More

This drive is worthwhile...beautiful getting there but also an amazing view of the different side of Yosemite. Trees growing out of boulders...windswept terrain...stunning!

I found best views at sunset. Add a tripod, a 200 mm plus lens and some great views. Good all the time but quieter at sunset too.

The road to Olmsted Point will be closed. Post on the Yosemite forum for advice about visiting the open areas in March.
