We did this trail as part of a backcountry trip, but you could do this as a day hike (I'd allow a full day though). If you go during season, you can park in the valley, catch a ride to glacier point and then most of the trail is downhill. Yosemite in general is so impressive, but Half Dome is... More

This is a nice hike apparently 8 or 9 miles. It felt longer, I am used to hiking around double this, but being from the UK our hikes are A LOT flatter. There are great views from Glacier point at the start of the hike and you pass several waterfalls on the way down in August there wasn't a lot... More

Going from the valley floor to the top of glacier point, across the Panorama and back down avian is a strenuous 17 to 18 miles. But for those who are in shape and prepared, there are no better views to be had of the park.

Allow a full day for this hike - especially if a lunch stop is planned. Wending its way down from Glacier Point to the Valley floor, one can experience the delight of sharing space with immense trees and terrific views. A random up and down leads to the wonderful Ililouette Creek - the perfect place to rest or take a... More

We hiked down the Panorama Trail in early September on a warm day (over 90 in the valley). This hike was one of the most beautiful hikes I have been on in a long time, panoramic views at every turn. We took the 10am bus up to Glacier Point, admired the view from up top, hit the bathrooms, topped off... More

What can I say that hasn't been said already! The panorama trail was an amazing hike that brought about a mixture of emotions--from pure awe of the landscape to wishing a helicopter would come rescue us! My husband and I hike on every vacation, and we knew this was the trail for us. We rode the bus up to glacier... More

wonderful trail. Best to start from Glacier Point ( you can either take a tour bus up form the valley or hike the 4 Mile Trail up. then walk down. Mostly down hill with a few uphills. will pass by 3 waterfalls. The first one is illouete fall, which is small but beautiful and secluded. Will have a long trek... More

This was the most amazing hike and experience of my life. The views were incredible where you see Illilouette Falls, Nevada Falls, Half Dome, Vernal Falls, and the Mist Trail. We took the shuttle from the lodge to Glacier Point, which took over an hour. Make sure to bring food, lots of water, sunscreen, bugspray, and good shoes. Also if... More

I definitely underestimated the difficulty of this trail. We took the 8:30am bus up to Glacier Point. We started the hike around 11am. Initially, it was a gentle downhill trail but as the day got warmer (around 90 degrees) & we reached the uphill part, we were getting worn out. We had a few snack breaks & frequent water breaks... We took the bus to Glacier Point from Yosemite Lodge. It is easier to walk down only than up and down, can enjoy the spectacular views from the top while you still feel fit. We regretted not having bathing suits along, because there are 2 waterfalls with safe natural rock basins and slides well above the falls. Is a great... More
