After seeing the Valley and Glacier Point, one of our days we decided to go to the high country at the recommendation of a guide. It was a beautiful drive. We stopped at Olmsted lookout and then got a great burger lunch at Toulumne Meadow...More

We stopped to use the bathroom near the meadows. This is a beautiful location with several short hiking trails. It's a great photo stop and location for a picnic. There were lots of cars, but some parking along the road in addition to the lot....More

We were tired and almost skipped this drive. It’s a beautiful drive with a lot of places to stop and view the landscape.

We had been driving on Tioga Road for awhile, through dense fog where we couldn't even see the road. Then, all of a sudden the fog broke up and we were what seemed like the top of the mountain range. Everything opened up and these...More

For best wildlife viewing arrive early. Please don't walk into the marsh. Picnic tables and porta potties are provided.

Tuolumne Meadows is worth the price of just visiting Yosemite. When I was here last summer, it felt like I was walking back in time. I was imagining what it would have been like for native dwellers hundreds of years ago. Be prepared to walk...More

I fell in love with Tuolomne Meadows. This area is located outside of the Yosemite Valley. It is about an hours drive away from the valley, it varies though, depending on trafiic. Also keep in mind that it's not open year round like Yosemite Valley...More

I loved my visit to Tuolumne Meadows. The hiking was amazing and the views of Half Dome from "the other side" were incredible. The lakes, the forested trails, the calmness. This is the real Yosemite!

I don't remember it being all that winding, but remember, you will on the Tioga Pass Road. That goes into the mountains. The speed limit is quite slow, so that might help a bit. As for the cabins, I cannot help you on... More
