The viewpoints tend to be looking down on the lower falls rather than up at them. This is still a great spectacle, but is not the iconic beauty of the lower falls. We saw the river in flood, and the power of the water rushing...More

You can hear and feel the power of the water rushing over the falls. The walk to it has a lot of switchbacks and is steep. A beautiful sight at the falls and looking down hte valley.

Because Uncle Tom's was closed, there was not way to get a good view of the Upper Falls, which are smaller than the Lower Falls (which are down river, hence the two names). Great area, a don't miss canyon to see in Yellowstone.

"This place is breathtaking", is how my 8 year old described this wonder. It is violent and serene in the same sight. Don't miss this!!!

We saw three very unique falls while visiting Yellowstone. Many people visit and think only about the geysers, but this another example that there is so much more to see. Easy to visit, too!

The upper falls were impressive, however not to the magnitude of the Lower falls. It was hard to get a good view.

When we pulled off to look at the upper falls, there was so much snow piled in the parking lot that we couldn’t get to the viewpoint. The trees along the edge blocked most of the view. This is no fault of the falls, which...More

You'll have to see them in order to believe it. In Winter, it is even nicer because one third of the falls is hard iced giving it a very unusual look.

The 109 ft/32 m Upper Yellowstone Falls is best seen from the Brink of the Upper Falls Trail, which is 0.4 mi/0.6 km long. My husband and I did the short trail around noon on a Sunday in August, and it was not too crowded.
