Keep in mind this is average for Yellowstone. You have a lot to choose from in this massive part. There is the wildlife, interesting geography, beautiful scenery, history - and of course the geothermals. But because of their vast number you can be selective, especially...More
Every basin has it's own unique features. This was a nice short stop. But it was the least interesting one we visited, in my opinion. It's worth a peak, but didn't really have anything that stood out.....other than the lone buffalo roaming it.
This location displays lots of varied thermal features. You can walk the boardwalk and view all of them fairly easily. The different colors and sounds are amazing. You can't miss the sulfur smells either.

While the parking is terrible, the walk is great. You get geysers, fumaroles, mud pots and hot spring pools in one small, easily visited location. Fountain Geyser is worth the wait if a geyser gazer recommends you stop!
Interesting place. Easy walking path around the area to observe the different kinds of geysers. The colors, shapes and sounds. Some of the geysers do go off often. So cool to see. First one caught me off guard. The bacteria area has some amazing colors.
This is the best place to see the mud pots. A short walk from the parking area along the boardwalk and you can see many different features in a very small area. As with EVERY spot in Yellowstone, there are more cars than parking spots.
