The Village is in a beautiful area of Yellowstone, close to the Grand Canyon area. The rooms in the Moran Lodge were clean and well-equipped. The lighting could be a bit brighter in the lavatory area. The beds were comfortable. We used the mini-fridge. The Eatery had good food in cafeteria style, though the selection is limited. The ice cream shoppe is great! The registration process was easy and the staff handled the process well.

The location is good within the park for traveling in either direction. Several lodges to stay in. General store, gas etc.

I wish I had taken the food reviews more to heart. The selection was awful. I feel bad for families with children to have to have this as a choice. The park should provide better food!

The place was under staffed which is an issue everywhere. But they did their best.

Canyon Village has everything you need for your stay at the park. Centrally located between all the attractions. Has Camping, a lodge, cabins, general store and restaurants, showers, a deli and a gas station. There is a post office and a ranger station with backcountry info and permitting.

Staying in Canyon Village was a great location for the upper and lower loops for Yellowstone. I would stay in Canyon Village again! Great place to stay!

We stayed at the Hayden building at Canyon Village in Yellowstone Park. It is the cheapest, cheesiest hotel we have ever stayed in and at some $275/night, highway robbery. Our room does even have a real bathroom, sink is OUT IN THE ROOM, toilet and shower squeezed into a closet 3 feet from the bed. Even the worst budget hotel is far superior. Pretty much no cell phone service and very poor, spotty wifi. Restaurant is crappy fast food, no real restaurant, no service. A real nightmare in every aspect.

Kindest, most compassionate staff in Yellowstone! We were there in mid-July & while rifling through the Yellowstone hat/shirt combo packs, I accidentally tipped over my "just filled" cup of coffee & soaked several combo packs. Horrified, I asked for the clothing manager & offered money for causing such a mess. Very graciously, she would not accept the money, but asked that I "spread goodness" & do something nice for someone else. What an incredibly kind response! (I consciously think of this interaction everyday & do things to honor her request.)
Before leaving, I purchased one of the coffee-stained combo packs, additional souvenirs, & ate lunch at the u-shaped diner. Please support this store. You will find everything you need: camping supplies, food, souvenirs, and #1 customer service!
*Don't forget to check out their selection of hat/shirt combo packs--without coffee cups in hand.

It’s not near anything, like geysers or waterfalls so you need to drive to see anything. Dining options are very limited

We stayed at the Dunavan Building, Canyon Village, during our trip to Yellowstone. The room was nice, clean, smelled good and was comfortable. It provided everything as listed and was comfortable this time of year in spite of not having air conditioning. We could open the windows if needed, a fan was provided and there was Wi-Fi. The staff were friendly at check in and check out.
To eat, there was a cafeteria style restaurant- we had breakfast here in the mornings which was just ok for quality. There was always a significant line, although it is off season and we were there fairly early (7 am or so). There was also a general store with a diner where we had a good late lunch.
The big take away is to check on time frames and what is open or not- both for times and seasons. There were already some stores (outfitters/supplies) already closed for the season. shops (and food) also seemed to close around 6pm.
Overall, we were very pleased with the whole experience- realizing it is a national park and not a high end resort!

Hotel is inside the park so it was very convenient for visiting the park. Room was clean and new. There is no wifi, tv or cell phone coverage. Room had refrigerator. Biggest issue is park has very little food services and no staff. We should have packed sandwiches and cooler before entering park.

A pretty big complex that they have a little shuttle for going around the area. the gas station is in a separate from the main complex which consists of the general store, several restaurants, and gift shops with a large parking lot.
