This was a pretty cool place and very different from the usual colorful hot springs. Instead of being a hole in the ground it is a hole in the side of a hill with smoke coming out of the cave. It is aptly named. The...More

Although the main feature of this stop is it's namesake, the Dragon's Mouth Spring, we enjoyed walking far past that feature along the entire ¾ mile boardwalk. Yes, the Dragon's Mouth was aptly named, a large hole in the side of a rock spewing out...More

The sights, sound and smells were different than other place we saw in the park. You really can imagine a dragon back in the hole breathing hot, caustic fumes. The chemical make up of this water is the same as sulfuric acid. You can feel...More

Dragon's Mouth is a natural formation that appears to "breathe" and huff noisily away inside it's lair. The walkway will take you very close to here and it is a very fun area to have the kids pay attention to. It will peak their interest...More

Dragon's Mouth Spring is a hot spring located in the Mud Volcano area. It has a cavernous mouth hence the name. It's a worthwhile stop on the Mud Volcano boardwalk.

It doesn't seem like much, and it wasn't my favourite spot in the park. But it is still worth a stop. Children would like to listen to the sound the Dragon's Mouth makes, but it does smell!

An easy stop along the Grand Loop road finds a series of small mud springs near the Yellowstone river. Nothing spectacular but interesting nonetheless.
