Norris Geyser Basin may be the hottest geyser basin in Yellowstone. Because of that, this place has a very barren landscape. There aren't many frequent active geysers but the colors of the geysers and hot springs here are still beautiful sights. If you don't have a lot of time to spend at Yellowstone, skip this basin and visit the more... More

A scenic geyser basin that is just as good as the others in the park, and therefore amazingly colorful and gorgeous, a sight unlike any other outside the park. The animals roaming nearby really added to the surreal feel of the location and it was really wonderful.

Now that I visited Rotorua recently in New Zealand, I can compare the volcanic and Geyser activity in Yellowstone to be like at least 20 times bigger. My suggestion will be to go visit Yellowstone National Park and then you can skip Rotorua as it is very small version.

This is a great place to stop off at, and take some time to look around, remember timing is important to go back late afternoon

A narrow, snow-packed path allows for a hike to the geyser basin. Lovely. Trees are covered and laden with snow: magical. Careful the path can be slippery. It does not go all around the basin as in the summer. The hot springs are hot, so snow covers the surrounding area of the clear hot springs.

Explore the hot geysers A trip to the United States of America is not complete without visiting Yellowstone National Park. Spread over 9000 square kilometres, the park extends into Idaho and Montana along with Wyoming. The whole of the national park is based around the Yellowstone Lake and Cradle, the largest active super volcano of the American continent. It houses... More

Visited this geyser basin late afternoon in January. The low angle sunlight was beautiful. Guide led us to Fountain Geyser just as it erupted. A memorable experience. Walked around the other hydrothermal features for over an hour. Worth every minute. An amazing and beautiful place, especially in winter.

Like all the other geyser bassins in Yellowstone this was is also very impressing. And just like everywhere the are many tourists. It doesn't matter what day, time or month you come it's always crowdy.

A clean cool stream enters this hot spot and exits with scalding water from the many mini-geysers. It is an easy loop but the start/end is a hike down/up hill. It is halfway between Old Faithful and Mammoth. You need two days to see all three locations and a full tank of gas. We took water with us but not... More

Parking was tight, but it was worth waiting for a spot. Absolutely stunning views of the geysers and hot springs!
