We arrived early only to wait another 30 minutes. My daughter is physically handicapped and we were put in one of the last wagons,so we ate dust all the way. We were last to load in the wagon so we were in the back seat. The buffalo herd was a nice treat. We were the last to unload from the... More

This was awesome! We have kids ages 13 and twin 11 year olds and they all LOVED it...we did too! The people who work here know what they are doing and you get so much history and stories in a fun way. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! worth every penny!

Our family rode the wagons to the site. They let the kids sit up front with the driver and we sat right behind them...be aware that the closer you are to the front the more dust there is. A scarf over your mouth is helpful. In addition to the driver, there was another guy talking providing interesting/educational/funny info and stories.... More

Two horses pull each of ten wagons to the dining area for a real western-style meal. The ride is about an hour, the cowboy chatter on the way is very amusing and informative, and the food is excellent. We had the unique experience of a bison wandering toward our wagon area and seeming to be interested in meeting us personally.... More

After speaking to a local in Gardiner, who takes her guests out on this, we decided to give it a go. Like all things in tourist season in Yellowstone, we expected it to be busy and expensive. It was both. We went on the very last night before they packed up for the season, so the staff were in high... More

We read positive and negative reviews for the Cowboy Cookout, so we decided to give it a try since it sounded fun. We rode in the wagons. If you go, be sure to get there early so you're in one of the front wagons, or your ride will be very dusty. Some of the wranglers are definitely better than others.... More

The Old West Dinner Cookout was one of the highlights of our vacation in Yellowstone. It was entertaining, interactive and the dinner was wonderful. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone. Emma and Joel drove our team and they did an exceptional job of getting to know everyone and keeping everyone entertained. This is a well run, organized event.... More

Great time, cookout, saw a bear (!), good food, music cheesy but nice....If you are in the mood to have fun, you will. If you just want to complain about imperfections, well, you can do that too, its not perfect. My family thought it was a blast. The ONE caveat is that we got there by horseback, not the wagons.... This was a fun, worthwhile experience. What really made it special were the wonderful enthusiastic wranglers. They're a delightful group of young people. Cowboy Joel's introduction was particularly interesting. The steaks were delicious as well as the rest of the food. Overall, our group of six had a great time and felt that it was worth the money. (A footnote:... More

I took my granddaughters (ages 14 & 8 who have never ridden) on the 2 hour horseback ride. I have taken other "dude rides" but this was AWESOME we rode up into the trees, mountain ridge, along the ridge line back down again, passed a backcountry lake. We saw deer along the way. The wranglers (cowboys/girls) were wonderful. They made... More
