Exciting on a windy day

My husband and I went on a cold, blustery morning. There were hardly any people out. It was eerie and romantic. A great way to start the day.

I took my kids across this on our recent trip to Cincinnati. It brought back a lot of memories as a kid and the things we used to do in Cincinnati around Christmas time.

Beautiful to look at but even cooler to walk across. Nice walking area that doesn't feel scary. Not a long walk but so cool to go over the river and walk toward the city.

The bridge is a fun walk since it connects Ohio and Kentucky. I haven't ever walked across a bridge that connects two states before, so it felt historical. Also, the backdrop of downtown cincinnati makes for a great photospot, especially at nights. There are lot of food places and great views on the Kentucky side, so make sure you do... More

We walked the bridge on a balmy winter evening and it was amazing...and totally safe! If you love the Brooklyn Bridge this is the fore-runner and the design is just as exquisite. During the holidays horse drawn carriages go across which makes for a delightful holiday treat! Go, go, go!

Roebling Suspension Bridge, located above the Ohio River, beapite being less famous, has been built 30 years earlier than Brooklyn Bridge and they have quite a similar architecture. Affordable parking rates on Ohio side otherwise you can park on the Newport side where parking is free.

Walking across the Roebling Suspension Bridge is definitely a more interesting way to travel across the Ohio River between Covington and Cincinnati; in itself scenic, with historical significance and with cars traveling on it to provide a nice humming background noise to help zone out to. Whilst walking on you can appreciate the architecture of the towers, the engineering involved... More

A lot of history and technology ( which you can read elsewhere ) for you to admire. We did the walk on a chilly morning from the Ohio side to Newport KY , stopping in between to take some beautiful pictures of the riverside park and the Queen City. It was fun despite the cold. I believe you must do... More

Historic landmark: Cincinnati 1850 population was 115,435 which was larger than St. Louis 77,860 and Chicago 29,963. Covington and Newport were home to 20,000 more residents, and as ferry traffic increased, the necessity of a bridge became apparent.Construction stretched over a decade, interrupted by the Civil War, during which the city and unfinished bridge were under threat of attack. The... More

This was the longest ropeway bridge when constructed in 1966 and looks like Brooklyn Bridge which was constructed 30 years later. Wonderful view
