We visited the Cincinnati Observatory this afternoon. It sits at the end of a quiet Cul-de-sac atop of Mt. Lookout. The volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to view the sun through 3 different telescopes with a special filter . The buildings housing the 2 large telescopes are very well maintained and are in perfect working order... More

My husband and I visited the Observatory last weekend for something different to do. It was the first time we'd been and were only disappointed because it was mostly cloudy and didn't get to look through the telescope but for a few seconds. The tour of the two building was very interesting and I learned a lot. Our total tour... More

This was a very friendly place. Family and adult alike. The skies were clear enough that we were able to view through two different telescopes. We got to see a few planets, the moon, and a few double stars. All the people here are volunteers and are so friendly! Go with questions and see if they can answer them because... More

This place is terrific. We had a talk from 2 members, 1 described the building and history of the obsevatory and the other described the universe and the night sky. We got to look through telescopes including the really big one. We saw the moon in detail (craters and all), Venus and Mars. The whole trip took over 3 hours... More

Honestly I didn't even know the city had an observatory until I heard an acquaintance talking about it. My husband is a big space lover so I decided to check it out as a surprise, low-key date night and we weren't disappointed! We went to an Astronomy Thursday event. It started with a college class style lecture that was actually... More

It is amazing that a little over thirty minutes from us that we have such an awesome place that we have never been to. We got to see Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn, even seen the rings. The people there were very informative and friendly. We defiantly want to go again. There is two buildings with two different telescopes, plus they... More

We are planning to go back to this place before we leave Cincinnati next summer. My first and only visit was for a Groupon my wife found for a late night star gazing session. It was very interesting and informative at the same time. Even if star gazing isn't something you would think of doing this is a truly unique... More

very interesting historical place to visit in cincinnati. They have huge telescopes and on certain days/ nights, you are able to view the solar system through them. Lots of history and a unique attraction.

Went there for first time since grade school to look at planet Mars, the staff were knowledgable friendly about the planet Mars and the solar system. Even pointed out that the Space Station took 90 minutes to circle the Earth(and if you knew what you were looking at you could see it with without a telescope)
