Guess you will have to look for events. Otherwise it's just another city block. There are restaurants around it and appears to be set up for events but will be small to hold too many people.

Beautiful fountain and the square is very nice. They have redone the whole thing and it is a great place for outdoor gathering and events. Nice downtown spot.

This place is still very beautiful as well as very carefully maintained. I visited this place decades ago during daytime. The night-view with constant-changing colors yielded unique beauty. The place also have a necessity facility - the public restrooms.

The fountain is really beautiful. The day we were there vendors were set up selling lunches. It was full of people sitting at the tables. Earlier there was photo shoot of a model. It looks like the square is utilized for lots of things.

Very relaxing. Nice place to visit during "peak" hours and special events. Lots of places to eat and enjoy. The pan handling gets to be a little annoying at times. Not sure how much I would hang out after dark.

I believe that the German market that you are reference is 'Findlay Market' which is on the northwest side of downtown. I think that it is only open during daytime hours. It is better and livelier during warmer months
