Lots of different collections here.

We enjoyed the displays of dishes, clothing, military items, tools and photos. The building was a gem too.

The most disgusting tribute to slavery I've ever seen. Why is this museum open in 2016. Oh..but they have a lovely display of confederate memorabilia. Makes me ashamed to be white

As I left the museum I wondered how long these historical museums will continue to exist, as many of the volunteers and docents are elderly. Talking to them is the best part of the visit, IMHO. Will the "younger generation" care enough about local history to take up the cause? At any rate , there are a lot of interesting... More

This old building was the County Court house of Vicksburg during the Civil War. Now it is a beautiful museum where you can wander through displays highlighting Vicksburg's past, The staff is very knowledgeable and are happy to answer any questions you have

Its free to walk the grounds of the old courthouse. We first arrived at night and found the building beautifully lite. We went back during the day time for better pictures.

I had always heard about the Old Courthouse from my mother growing up. The museum and all of it's historical artifacts was amazing. The Curator took the time to help me find some of my relatives and their places at the local cemetery which added to our visit to Vicksburg. It was not only interesting to see, but I actually... Excellent exhibits of Jefferson Davis, the Civil War and an eclectic collection of collections of several Vicksburg residents. There are four rooms downstairs and five upstairs, including the old courthouse. Bathrooms outside the courthouse used to be cisterns and are fun to go into as well for memorabilia. You could spend many hours in here if you are really into... More
