The museum is a fascinating look at a recovered Civil War era monitor and the items found on the ship are located in the museum. It is a welcome spot to get out of your car and relax as you tour the battlefield.

Very interesting story regarding the history of this gunboat and its sister ships. Found over 100 years and raised over many years . The engineering for the time is unbelievable. Small museum is really nice and very modern.

No. It is a National Park. Fee per car. If you're a Veteran, you can get a lifetime pass good for all National parks.
