This was a siege vs.battle. This campaign cost a lot for success. Exploration of the area was educational and eye-opening. This is a must for history and civil war buffs.

Amazing park which is so different from any other Civil War park that I have visited. No wonder the Union had to resort to siege tactics.

The park battle ground area is beautiful and well maintained with well marked features. It's amazing how much of the earth fortifications still remain. The park staff was friendly and very helpful.

You are able to drive the lines of the two armies. The information at each stop is excellent. You will not leave with dry eyes if you are an american.
