Was in town for work and I hadn't been here for decades. It was a beautiful day in the off-season and lots of people were out hiking and biking. If I wasn't tired from my early flight I would have spent the afternoon walking the park. It's gorgeous. The short film in the visitor center gives an excellent overview, but... More

Valley Forge is our "neighborhood" park, and easy to take for granted. There are many hikes over open fields and up and down hills, in the woods. We enjoy how the landscape changes with the seasons--subtle colors in the tall grasses, especially nice at twilight. It's also special to stand in the houses where the leaders of the revolution sheltered,... More

This an absolutely easy Park to drive. All of the historical sights have easy access and parking. You don't have to be a history buff to enjoy this Park. Fall is an absolutely beautiful time to visit Valley Forge. We saw many walkers, joggers, and families with dogs. I had read about the crowds of summer and was glad we... More

Visited before a late afternoon flight out of Philly. Arrived at 9:25 on a gorgeous late October Saturday. The park was full, but not too crowded with bikers, hikers, walkers, dog walkers and even horseback riders. We stopped in the Visitor Center, watched the film and visited the exhibit area. There was a trolley tour you could pay for but... More

My very first experience with History came at Valley Forge in 1955. With the exception of military service, I have lived within fifteen miles of the Park since then. I was Chief of Interpretation for Valley Forge in the early 1970's when it was still a Pennsylvania State Park and was actively involved in gaining the transfer of the park... More

We visited Valley Forge with our grandchildren and all enjoyed the visit. We arrived as they were starting the video and appreciated the context it provided for our visit. We stopped by the gift shop after the video to purchase the CD audio driving tour. It was of great help in guiding us to the attractions and explaining what we... More

I had been looking forward to visiting valley forge for a long time. While I wasn't disappointed I wasn't thrilled either. There is some great history here, and I'm sure if you take the tour they organize with the trolley and have a guide with you it would be more beneficial than exploring on your own. They also offer different... More

This park is amazing. I took a tour last Memorial Day, and the guides were incredibly well-informed and kept everything interesting. I loved hearing the history, and my favorite part was touring George-Washington's headquarters!

The park is designed as a 10-mile loop road (some sections of which are one-way) with parking lots at points of interest along the way. Also you can park your car and take a walk at either the paved walkway or trails. A map of the Park can be picked up at the visitor center which houses a small museum.
