We were in a bit of a hurry, so I loved the self guided tour. We were there early morning and it was a little foggy which really gave it a mystical feeling

On a recent sunny spring day this park was packed. We only had a short period time but we bought the audio cd to do a tour. It is supposed to be a 60 minute trail but takes a lot longer with traffic and stops....More

There wasn’t as much there as we hoped, but it was educational still. Fascinating to think grown men slept and lived in the tiny cabins.

Why would you bypass a place with such natural beauty and history, We are so lucky in this area around Philadelphia and suburbs to be able to enjoy so many natural attractions. Let us carefully preserve them.

I got there at ten in the morning. After a few minutes checking out the information center I took off on foot. First impression is that I had no idea how expansive the encampment is. I began walking the park in a clockwise direction and...More

Valley Forge is mainly noted for George Washington's December, 1777 winter encampment, where he, and his soldiers endured a harsh winter of snow and freezing temperatures. You will find encampment sites, monuments, canons, and more. It's a place where you can step back into time...More

This was a spur of the moment addition to our trip so we did not have much time for a visit. The staff of the Visitor's Center helped us work out what to see with the short time we had. The whole site is evocative...More

We walked around the park figuring that the men camped out there for the winter did the same. I think it gave us a better appreciation for the time they spent there. Three hours would give you plenty of time to drive part of... More

If you're driving, you can go as fast as you like and someone can narrate from the map. But easier, faster and more informative to park and take the tour for 1.5(?) hrs and have someone else drive and talk.
