Do not waste your time going here. Most of the stores are big chains, only a few of them are locally owned. They did have a live band, which was cool to listen to and watch. They also have a farmer’s market certain afternoons, but we missed it.

Aloha - We understand and respect that our retail and restaurant selection has changed in ways that may not be favored by all and we hope that as we continue to grow and settle, we'll be able to offer new memories and experiences that will give folks reasons to visit us again.

I'm giving a pre-emptive 5 stars based on them still having Kimo and Leilani Kahoano doing the hula and entertainment there. Old ambience is missing but those two make magic. ARE THEY THERE? AND WHEN?

Dear MJMJ-Aloha, Thank you for your kind words. We will definitely relay the message to them on your behalf. They are definitely local treasures! We look forward to seeing you again soon. I'm sure Kimo and Leilanii feel the same way! Mahalo!

We had a pleasant visit to this famous mall in Honolulu ! The Banyan Tree near the entrance is especially enchanting. Many of the stores were not open when we arrived there around 10ish, but it was very nice to walk around the outdoors and indoors area. I wish the stores would open at 9:00. They have a variety of stores that suit everyone. The super friendly security guard of the mall took lots of pictures for us that day and that definitely left us with a wonderful memory from our visit there. This time we stayed in Ko Olina, but next time we will definitely stay in the heart of Waikiki because of the International Market Place!

Another high end sanitized commercial experience. It’s good that they kept the banyan tree but the space feels devoid of the bustling energy of the former marketplace.

Aloha Tracytravels - we regret to learn that your recent visit to International Market Place fell short of your expectations. While oure newly reimagined center is different than the Polynesian-inspired village it once was, we take pride in the new ways we're able to celebrate and honor Hawaiian Cultural, particularly Queen Emma and the royal family, in a way that the previous center did not, through design and activations like our O Na Lani Sunset Hula Show and Cultural Journey. As we continue to look for ways to bridge the present to the past, we're excited to have the Mahiku Farmers' Market back at the center every Thursday to offer shoppers a more diverse selection of goods and products. We do hope you'll visit us again soon and rediscover all that we have to offer. Mahalo!

We paid a visit here on a recent trip to Waikiki. It’s an open-air mall with high-end retailers. There are a number of very nice-looking restaurants on the top floor - quite expensive though. It’s well worth a look - even if just window shopping - as it’s an attractive and clean mall.

This is an open air mall, so what’s not to like?
It’s extremely clean, there is a great variety of food and shopping available, and they do have special events such as luaus and live music.
We went through here every day on our recent trip to Honolulu, and had a great time.
It’s a nice place to walk around and relax, maybe grab a drink or a little bite to eat.
Very nice.

Aloha ChefJHS, We are glad that you enjoyed your visit to the International Market Place. Sunset Stories hula show is very popular. We hope that you were able to get some great photographs with the performers following the show. The property prides itself on the synthesis of modern, the land and perpetuation of Hawaiian culture. Thank you so much for visiting us and your kind words. We cant' wait to see and serve you again. Mahalo and Aloha!

Not being a mall person, I didn't spend much time there either than for its Farmer's Market on every Thursday from 4.00pm to 8.00pm where we can find more of South East Asia street food, plenty of fresh fruits and juice plus veggies, and the every Friday's evening Polynesian Song and Dance Perfromances in which were very informative and entertaining.

It was a far cry from what I remember when I first visited it in 1980. The then International Market was more authentic and flamboyant with more happenings in my opinion.

Aloha Lengtan67 and thank you for sharing your review regarding your recent visit to International Market Place. We're glad to hear that you visited during our Farmer's Market - this is the same Farmer's Market as the original International Market Place! We regret to learn that our reimagined center is not in your favor. Our development teamed worked with DTL , a Hawaiian Strategy Firm to create an environment that celebrates the Hawaiian sense of place and rich history of this land that came before the last International Market Place. We're proud to have design elements incorporated through the center that pay tribute to Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV - something that was not showcased in the previous Market Place. The ahupua'a , or land division, in which we sit is also celebrated through the water features throughout the center and of course we celebrate the musical history of International Market Place in our Banyan Court. We're very excited to soon be launching an audio cultural tour that will allow listeners to truly be immersed in the deeply rooted Hawaiian history and culture of International Market Place, Queen Emma and Waikiki. As an important asset of the Queen Emma Land Company, proceeds from the Center directly benefit the Queen's Health System to which we are truly grateful to have serve our community, especially during this trying time. With a mixture of local, national and unique stores and restaurants, our hope is that visitors and locals alike will find something special and create new lasting memories with us. Mahalo, Malia

This mall has a cool tree growing right up through the middle of it. I made several trip here to the third floor to visit the Liliha Bakery. This bakery has the best... everything. The malasadas, stuffed rolls (tuna & ham, pepperoni pizza), muffins,... It was worth the 15 minute walk from my hotel!

Aloha kellysN302VE, Thank you for your kind words and for visiting the International Market Place. The tree that you mentioned is the Banyan tree that had been originally planted in the mid 1800s! We are glad that you enjoyed Liliha Bakery. They are a local institution and a great and convenient edition to our Grand Lanai. We hope you'll be able to visit us again. Until then Mahalo and Aloha!
