My wife and I were invited on 2/22/20 to listen to jazz music in the Lili’u Room. The atmosphere was all about the music as patrons there were all hyped up and excitedly looking forward to a magical evening. Wine was served (per your ticket) and the managing of getting everyone inside to their seats before showtime was handled well. The room was well acclimated with the AC at a comfortable temperature, the seats were comfortable with little fold out tables to place your drinks on, and the overall employees (some volunteers) that worked that evening was very pleasant. What shocked me was the price of parking. It was a little high at $12 per vehicle. Otherwise, it was a great venue and a perfect place to hold the event. 🎶

Fairly easy to find, extremely grateful from an international visitor. The convention centre is fairly large and can accommodate a lot of people at any one time. Visited the Honolulu Expo and it had plenty of room to move.

We came back here on our return trip and walked around. There was a basketball convention going on with lots of people. The place works well for meetings and events.

Downtown Waikiki great location for a conference center and theater building, near so many hotels and restaurants. Impressive building.

First time with the family at a ComicCon and it did not disappoint. The area was well spaced out so it didn't feel too crowded.

Opened in 1998, this is the largest exhibition space in the 808. What brought me here was the 2018 Okinawan Festival, its inaugural year at this new venue after years of being held at Kapiolani Park.
From the outside, it’s a window washer’s dream and a bird’s worst nightmare. Four levels of thick, blue-green glass acts as the building’s facade. From inside on the third level, you can see out onto a flat roof surface just above the lobby that is sometimes littered with dead fowl.
On the inside, I was impressed by its size especially since it sits on such a small parcel of land.
LEVEL 1:
The ground floor features a four level-high lobby with floor to ceiling glass, and the gargantuan Kamehameha Exhibit Hall, which at 204,000 SF, can be divided into thirds. Concession areas and restrooms line the backside of the room. PRO TIP: There are two escalators in the lobby. The left one side leads directly to the third level. The right side leads directly to the second level parking area.
LEVEL 2:
The parking garages is house on the second level. Parking is limited for a venue of this size, IMO. Luckily we were staying at the Ala Moana Hotel across the street and simply walked over.
LEVEL 3:
A plethora of meeting rooms in all sizes and two theaters with stages are housed on the third level.
LEVEL 4:
The top level of the complex sports the 35,000 SF Kalakaua Ballroom which can be divided into thirds. And, a super-cool rooftop garden with great views of the city is available for outdoor events.
OVERALL:
As far as the Okinawan Festival went, I feel they should’ve used larger meeting rooms on the third level to house the craft and snack vendors. While I haven’t been to other convention centers for comparison, I think the HCC is a top-notch facility.

This is an interesting facility. It is the only convention center that incorporates indoor and outdoor well. Oh, the benefits of location! This isn't a huge facility, like many on the mainland, but it was more than adequate for my conference. Two things I didn't like: 1) The escalators easily get backed up, they would benefit from having easily accessible stairs. 2) The men's restrooms have wide open urinals, with no privacy, which could easily be fixed with separating panels.
Overall, a nice facility.

The Hawaii Convention Cnter is well designed. It is four floors of convenience and efficiency.... plus it is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. (Can’t get much better than that...)
The meeting rooms and halls are first rate.
High ceilings with plenty of glass gives this convention center a wide open and airy feeling.
This is probably one of my favorite places to travel to for a meeting. The center’s design combined with everything that Oahu has to offer is hard to beat.

This is the States showpiece convention center on the corner of Kalakaua and Kapiolani where local shows compete for association conference space. Many special events so check listing. Plenty of on site parking.
