The best view of Honolulu from Diamond Head in the east to past the airport to the west. It is about a 15-20 minute drive from Waikiki. We went there after hiking up to Manoa Falls.

Drive up Round Top Drive to Pu'u 'Ualaka'a State Park to the summit where you find the Tantalus Lookout. Spectacular views on the entirety of Honolulu stretching from Diamond Head and across the city. Try to go on a nice day when the sky is blue and the sun is shining. The drive up takes about 15 minutes. I went around 11am on a Sunday morning and had no problems finding a parking spot. Hardly any others there at that time. Apparently, this is a favorite spot for car break ins so don't leave valuables visible, but I had no issues.

Great views. Wasn’t crowded at all. If you park in the larger lot there is a short trail to the lookout. There is also a very small lookout parking lot. Signs for theft but we had no issues. There are restrooms as well. No one was there to pay for parking nor did I see any signs requiring it.

It's very pretty and windy as others have said but we were unaware that non-Hawaiian residents were required to pay a hefty $7 per vehicle for parking. There was also a security guard in the parking lot; I assumed he was deterring car break-ins which is common at this location. Plus a sign warning of bees during high winds! Didn't see any bees thank goodness, but didn't see any washrooms either. There was more signage explaining the historical significance of that location. It's a beautiful view so worth going on a sunny day but parking lot can be full during high season. Hang onto your hats!

Went because Elvis filmed Blue Hawaii here so is a must for the 60 Elvis fans on this trip! Beautiful day - great view especially of the green where Elvis set up his picnic in Blue Hawaii - following in the footsteps of The King!

Beautiful view but very windy. I recommend wearing a jacket or long sleeves if you want to explore. Be sure to check out the wild kitty's laying on the rocks and tree trunks.

An easy drive up to the top. We enjoyed some malasades and the stunning view just after sunrise. It was peaceful with only a couple of people there.

Wowzer! This was a recommendation from our waiter and did not disappoint. They said is a local favorite. You can drive to the top and take in the spectacular views of Waikiki and Diamond head. Great for all ages because not hike to the top.

We wanted a different way to watch the sunset aside from at the beach (I know, blasphemy right?). The Tantalus Lookout was perfect. A short drive into the hills north of Honolulu, it was relatively easy to find a place to park and it's a short walk to the lookout. Bring a blanket to sit on the lawn below the lookout, joining many others who are there to witness the beautiful sunset with you!

There is a separate picnic area with covered pavilions over picnic tables and restrooms available just a couple of minutes walking distance from the lookout.

A very unknown area but it was so good, I actually enjoyed this more than Diamond Head. The view was so much better. A beautiful spot.
