Many hikes on island are kid friendly, as in do-able while carrying/toting/dragging little ones. This one, not so much. That said, the base (where you enter/Park) has benches, picnic tables, store, food truck, restrooms, etc. A great place for friends and families to wait.

Not sure the total round trip (may be something like 1.4 miles), but it's not an 'easy' walk. One pathway serves both people coming and going. Some people run up the trail with backpacks; they're there to exercise. The path is not smooth and level,...More

This hike is s little challenging, but very doable. It is hot- take sunscreen and water as with any place in Hawaii. The views on top are great.

To be honest, we are more of an action/adventure family than a beech family. Did we cool down at the beech after? - yup. Getting there: There were tour buses that dropped you off inside. There was parking if you wanted to drive and a...More

We had hiked Manoa Falls earlier, so were a bit worn by the time we did Diamond Head, but it was definitely worth it! We did not take a tour, but parked in the lot, checked out the small outside visitor center and started up...More

We decided to catch the trolley to the base of diamond head and walk from there, I looked up and thought there was no way I would make it the top, after knee replacement and washout plus a heart attack in the last 18 months....More

This was my second time on Oahu and first time on Diamond Head. It was worth a visit, but once was enough for me.
