Purchased tickets for my parent's wedding 50th anniversary trip to Hawaii. They had an absolute blast! Loved the casual luau style dinner buffet with live music and hula dancing. They were wowed by the Rock-A-Hula show. A great blend of traditional Hawaiian dancing, live music, and Elvis and Michael Jackson impersonators. I called the box office and they were able to confirm my gift purchase so my parents had no trouble picking up their tickets. A once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Our original luau was cancelled due to rain and this was the only one we were able to get into before we had to leave Hawaii. We were a little skeptical, but this turned out amazing.
The food, though not served on a beach, was quite good. You could go through as many times as you wanted, and they served the traditional pork along with several other meat options and a tofu option for vegetarians/vegans. Dessert was very good.
The live entertainment and hula demonstration was a lot of fun.
The show itself, as other reviews have said, heavily features an Elvis and Michael Jackson impersonator. I'm not the biggest fan of Elvis, but he was still fun to watch and the MJ actor has nailed his craft. There were a few more traditional Hawaiian dances sprinkled throughout, along with a feature song by one of the performers, a local Hawaiian.
The fire dancer was also quite good, though there was only one of him and I hear other luaus have more group performers for that aspect.
Still though, this was an excellent time, better food and entertainment than we were expecting, and weather-proof!

Food was good, the roast pork and beef were excellent. Typical Luau, not a vegetable in sight. The Fish was wonderful, and I don't like fish usually.

Food was average. The show is an Elvis Presley/Michael Jackson tribute show if that’s what you’re looking for. Only one 5 minute fire dancing performance and one 5 minute traditional hula dance to Hawaiian music. Better off spending your money on a nice upscale dinner.

This is an indoor buffet in a mall with a show in a good sized theater. The food was ok at best. You could go up as many times as you wanted too but once was enough for us. The deserts were good. The highlight for us were the people entertaining us during the Luau and in the show. At first we were expecting a cultural experience but that's not what this is. They work Hawaiian history into the show but it was heavily focused on Elvis and Michael Jackson impersonators. I'll be honest, neither of them have much to do with the history of Hawaii. That being said, if your looking for a good show with good talent you should see them. The local singers and dancers were the highlight of the show. Even though they only had one guy come out and do the short fire dance he was entertaining. They definitely have talented people there. I would suggest not bothering with the food and just go for the show.

My family and I did the VIP dinner and the Rock-A-Hula Show. This review is based on the VIP dinner and show.
Lets start with the show: It is great! The talent is really good and the fantasy of seeing Michael Jackson and Elvis makes you think you are almost at the presence of the real ones. The dancers and the rest of the singers and acrobats are amazing. I would totally recommend the show.
Dinner was a different experience. The food was NOT worth it. It took too long to between courses and the food was not good. For the price you pay, I think it would be better to have dinner otherwise and just buy the tickets for the show. The only thing that is good is the sitting as it is on private table and in front of the stage.
Unfortunately I cannot rate the dinner separately. I would give 5-star rating to the show but 2-star rating to the dinner.

Awesome luau hosts! Show was very entertaining, but should have more fire dance. Food and desserts were delicious.

Great night out in Waikiki. We did the VIP seating dinner show. A couple of drinks were included, lobster salad, surf and turf dinner and pineapple Gelato dessert. The show depicted the music of Hawaii from 1920 forward. The lead singer was great and talented, the men and women did an excellent job with the show and costumes. Elvis and Michael Jackson were superb. Our server Kobe was awesome . Thanks to the band and all the staff/performers.

All of the show was great but a little music was a little loud. My sister wears hearing aids and she took them out and the music was still loud.

How do you choose the chicken/steak instead of the fish/steak option for the dinner?

The last two years we have seen the same show. We will be visiting again this summer. Will the show be different for July 2020 than the last two years.

We saw the show with Elvis and Michael Jackson. We enjoyed it so much that we could easily see it every year. We talked to Michael Jackson impersonator for 30 minutes after the show which was very interesting and fun for us. You should go see it again and the show may be a little different from 2 years ago.

I'm trying to decide whether to do the VIP or just the show. I noticed you said just the show. I'm wondering what the difference is in the quality of viewing the show if you don't buy the VIP meal. Cannot imagine that the VIP meal is worth the additional $90 or so. But I'm just concerned how good the "cheap seats" are. No idea how large the place is. Thanks!

This is our poinion, VIP meal was too much for us,so $90dallers meal was little expencive. But it was so good. Foutunatlly, we seated at the front line of the down level. So I got a flowerlei. Elvis go around upper level also. The thaeter is not so big, so even if you seat at upper level seat, you can enjoy the show well.

Maybe opt for just the show rather than the ones with a meal.. The theatre is small enough for a good view so I'm sure he will enjoy it

Just curious if there is a dress code? Especially for the VIP package. Thanks!
