Stayed near the zoo, enjoyed the relative quiet. Banyan trees are amazing, water is beautiful and view of Diamond Head is spectacular. We visited for a change of scenery, relaxation, and the beach. Got them all. If you want shopping, shopping, more shopping...go up the other end.

Way overcrowded and way too much chaos and not relaxing whatsoever. Wouldn't really call it a beach, more of a bit of sand with a lot of people and no place to relax.

Waikiki Beach in essence, expands from the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Resort Hotel to Diamond Head, with sections along the way being known as Duke Kahanamoku Beach and Kuhio Beach. Waikiki Beach is safe for families with small children (under supervision of course) where you can spend the whole day under the warm Hawaiian sun and Pacific Ocean. Whether you... More

Park the car if you are not staying on the beach and just go and soak up the atmosphere and magnificent views. Nice and warm water temp in late Feb.

I've been to Waikiki several times and although it offers beautiful resorts and a wonderful ocean view, it is not my favorite place in Hawaii. It's very touristy and has a continuous, nonstop flow of people. If you're looking for a quiet get-away, this is probably not the place for you. Good for families.

Many places to rent beach and surf equipment. Restrooms far apart. Many benches and cabanas for sitting in sun or shade. Several catamarans to take a sail in for a reasonable price

The food was amazing and the views from tables near the deck are brilliant. If you book the early dining session you can sit and watch the sunset over the water. You must try the ribs and a mai Thai, it's almost a right of passage at Duke's!!

If you're looking for a quiet out of the way beach, this is not it. High-rise hotels and restaurants line the boardwalk that runs along the beach. It's a very vibrant atmosphere, but can be crowded. Definitely a great, fun beach atmosphere - reminded me of the boardwalk beaches in California.
