We organised the KoAloha Factory tour as we wanted to see the process of these great instruments. Paul, Alan, Pops, Mom and all the staff were welcoming and happy to talk about the history of the company and what they all do to contribute. I came away with a factory special Koa soprano ukulele that sounds wonderful. They are good... More

This place rocks. Every employee treated us as honoured guests and celebrity musicians. We loved seeing how these beautifully handcrafted, individually made ukuleles are created. No wonder they're so good. Every one is a work of art and love. They let us play them and also had a rack of high quality seconds available for sale. A fabulous experience, thanks.... More

Took my dad here when he came for a visit. I was not looking forward to it as I don't know anything about ukuleles and fankly had no interest in learning. This tour changed my mind. It was awesome! We learned all about how they make the ukuleles which was fascinating. Our tour guide even stood on one to demonstrate... More

If you want to see a real Hawaiian ukulele made then this is a great place to visit. Friendly staff, informative tour and if you are lucky like we were you might get a mini show from someone like Herb Ohta Junior or maybe a song from Alvin (Pops) Okami himself. You can even pick up a factory second ukulele.... More

We ended up walking to the ukulele shop and arrived around 12:30 pm for the 1 pm tour. Although we were really early, the hospitality was great. We were immediately offered some water to rest from the heat outside. Since we were interested in purchasing some of the factory discounted ukuleles, we spent the time browsing the selection. KoAloha sells... More

Since we were the only people that were there on that day, it became our private tour. The tour was very good and very well enjoyed by all. It gave my family an appreciation for the work and craftsmanship that goes into making stringed instruments like the Ukulele. keep in mind this is a working factory and quite small.

Touring this facility was part of the group trip that I booked for 10 days in Honolulu. They packed 26 of onto the factory floor and somehow arranged it so we could all see and hear the tour, showed us a couple of ukulele-making secrets ;-) and finished our time there with an impromptu show with a fantastic hula dancer... We visited the KoAloha Ukulele factory and for all you uke players - it was one of the best experiences we've had! The staff were so very warm, friendly and informative given we were disturbing their work time and schedules. If you're lucky enough to meet "Pops" (Alvin Okami) and listen to his stories and hear him sing then your... More
