Amazing to actually experience being on a submarine. Hats off to the brave men who sailed this vessel to protect our nation.

USS BOWFIN (SS-287) is a World War II Balao class Fleet submarine, museum and memorial, that is open for visitors daily at Pearl Harbor. She was built in 1943 and carried a crew complement of 10 officers and 70 men. She has largely been restored to her condition in the summer of 1945. Most areas within the submarine are accessible/viewable.... More

Was nice to tour the USS bowfin educational and was cool to see the inside of a submarine first hand . Amazing seeing the close quarters they functioned in.

If you are part of a tour group with free time before going on the Arizona Memorial I recommend coming here first. It is well worth the walk through and due to size it can he hard to rush through in larger crowds. They offer free headphones which advise information of the sub - we skipped this as we were... This is my third time on the Bowfin. In this trip with my brother in law (his first trip) I was reminded of the amazement of these subs. The tour is cheap ($12 adults, $5 kids) and worth double that. Experiencing the interior of a WWII sub and the conditions these brave men lived in is simply awe inspiring. The... More

The ship is very interesting and busy with tours. We were glad we went through the narrow ship. It is not for those that cannot handle confined and narrow space. Also you need to be able to get through very small compartments. Be sure to visit it if you are in the area.

They do offer a discount to vets. We had a great time going through the submarine at our own pace. I saw a lot of people that were using the audible tour. We just walked around and read the signs. Neat experience to see how small the area was that the men lived and worked in. BRAVE MEN!!

How often can you get the chance to go on an old sub? we were there early and just about fitted in a visit to the Bowfin and it was great...it didnt take much imagination to appreciate how it would have been to be actually underneath the sea for long periods in such a small space. Brilliant visit!"

We again did this with my dad and my twins. The kids loved seeing the inside as dad is a submariner. It's a little pricey in my opinion but my kids and dad loved to see the inside.
