This is a sweet quiet place. Very relaxing. We had a nice time visiting the the labyrinth of rooms, each with its own theme. The staff was friendly and helpful and the museum was clean and inviting. There were very few people there so it made for a wonderful atmosphere for enjoying the art. Although they had many pieces from... More

I teach art at the HMAS next door. I am a bit biased. I love this place. It has wonderful interior courtyards and a great restaurant. You need to make reservations for lunch. The art is impressive and I used to live near NYC so I know what a great art scene is like. For a smallish local museum they... More

I enjoyed this museum --the courtyard layout makes it a bit more interesting than other galleries I've visited. Nice collections that are well curated. It's free the 1st Weds of the month too!

Interesting enough to visit more than once; the museum has a smaller annex Spaulding House but the main attraction is the Art Museum. Join for $25, which gives you (member only) free entry - a bargain if you can manage separate visits. Also gains you free entry for the last Friday themed party. We went to the one for Halloween;... A worthwhile place to visit and have lunch, especially if going on the Shangri La tour. Give yourself at least two hours for lunch and touring before going on the shuttle bus to the estate.

This is a wonderful museum and easy to navigate. We went this time for the Rodin exhibit which was beautifully curated with very good didactics. They have a superb collection of asian art of all types. They also oversee the wonderful Duke estate and you can join a documented tour from the museum. Ms. Duke, the famous teenager who inherited... I absolutely loved this art museum. It had such a variety of exhibits, and was broken into separate galleries by time era, along with by cultural background. Currently, they are featuring a Hawaiian exhibit, which was one of my personal favorites. It's very interactive and good for all ages. Also very reasonably priced at $10 per person. We spent about... I had a wonderful experience in this museum, it was bigger and much more interesting that I was expecting. The building itself is beautiful, and they have great expositions all year long!. Well worth it!

I consider this a very good museum. It can't compare with the mega museums, of course (National Gallery of Art, Chicago Institute of Art, etc.). But, for its size it has a good representation of many styles of art. Actually, this museum turned out to be better than I'd expected... For example, you can see a fairly decent representation of...
