There are a few interesting species on display. The aquarium itself is very small and all areas can be visited within 15-20 minutes. I found the admission quite pricey for the size and number of species displayed inside.

Run down. Needs total renovation. $12.00 for 10 minute walk thru. Almost asked for my money back but figured they needed the money to improve.

It’s small and it was disappointing that the seals weren’t around. But it’s a nice distraction for a hour or two and well priced.

The aquarium was a bit of disappointment. First, charge us $2.00 for a paper mask. ?? There was only one outside display. Everything was inside. I was here 14 years ago and there was much more to see then. Wasn't worth the money.

Not worth the time or money. Go to the beach instead. Some of the displays are no longer open. You can tell it's not been updated in years.

One of our regular stops when in Waikiki. Small but well laid out and thoroughly enjoyable. We booked on line and there are discounts for seniors. Unfortunately their monk seals are currently off exhibit.
Masks are required indoors but not in the outside exhibit area.

The site is smaller than the Aquarium in Maui. The steaks were not out and the indoor tour is kind of short. We were disappointed that no turtles were part of the tour. Usually aquariums have live demos with animals for kids to pet like a sea cucumber, starfish, or other small marine life. There was none of that. There are outdoor tanks with fish and coral but that was also inside. Of course there is a gift shop and a few f&b vendors on site. The aquarium highlights some local marine life on the self-guides tour. Tickets for adults are $12 each. I’m happy to donate to the University of Hawaii’s aquarium. It’s important to keep an open mind for the visit. Either way, I appreciate the accessibility to visit and take in the exhibits available. Budget 30 minutes or so for a visit. There are touchscreens monitors to gain knowledge about what is on display. So the tour is interactive and tech-friendly.

This is the best way to see all the fish that you might see snorkeling at Hanauma Bay or on the North Shore Sharks Cove without the parking hassle, sand, cranky kids, etc! $5 for seniors. A good hour takes you through the whole aquarium. Free parking, esp if you wait a bit for the lot; people are only there for an hour and places free up. This is a Honolulu treasure. Kids will love it; parents, too, because it is pretty stress free. This is a treasure.

The aquarium is rather small, and can easily be seen in an hour or less. What is there is well presented though. It also continues beyond the building into the pleasant yard outside, with additional displays there.

Loved the aquarium! All kinds of colorful fish and an unusual dragon sea horse. Its small but packed with lots of varieties of fish and jellyfish.
