Stopped here for a gift at the end of our trip for friends back home. Free samples were available in-store and the packaging design caught our eye as it was like mini artworks of their own. The cakes themselves are tasty as well and the prices seemed quite reasonable given all of the other trinkets on offer throughout Waikiki! Store clerk was a bit eccentric, but was helpful in guiding us to the right purchase and how best to enjoy the treats.

It was my family's first time visiting the newly renovated and designed International Marketplace, so we enjoyed strolling through each of the floors and just checking out the various stores.

My first impression of Kula & Ko's storefront was that it was beautiful. The store looked very elegant and inviting. And, the smile on the kind clerk's face who was in the store (and the samples) cinched the deal -- we were going in. I'm not good with names, but the lady who helped us also bakes with the company during the week and then sells in the store on the weekends. I was impressed with her customer service, and how she took the time to tell us about the store. Kula is the Hawaiian word for gold and ko is the Hawaiian word for sugarcane. The cakebars contain pineapples as the ingredients.

There were two different confections to sample, and they were both delicious. I was planning to buy something for a friend who now lives on the mainland, so it was serendipitous that we visited the store. I bought a variety pack of cakebars for her, and it was beautifully packaged.

I'd recommend this store. The customer service is top-notch, and the cake bars were tasty. Also, if you parked at the International Market Place and need parking validated, if you spend $10 in the store, you can also get your parking validated.
