A huge shopping centre but you need to know what you are after if you want a bargain - lots of high end shopping - plenty of food outlets and lots of under cover and air conditioning making shopping easier - can walk from resort hotels but much easier to catch a taxi and not overly expensive - another option is bus which only costs $3.

A huge shopping mall with many designer label shops to tempt you. It could do with a few more orientation boards around the place as getting lost is apparently very easy!

It's a typical mall, with stores similar to what you'd expect to find in any large city mall elsewhere in the US. The only difference is its free daily hula dance show at 5 pm sharp which is very entertaining even though it is fairly short (maybe 15-20 minutes in duration). The performers are very good at what they do.

Hula performance aside, it is a big mall with a good variety of shops and services, which offers a down-to-earth alternative to the pricier, more upscale boutiques found in Waikiki.

The "Ala Moana Center" is a massive open-air lifestyle center in Honolulu. From its opening in 1959, the center has evolved to become the eleventh largest mall in the United States. It claims to be the largest open-air shopping center in the world. There are over 350 stores, restaurants and services. The stores in the center range from ubiquitous (e.g. ABC stores and Target) to exclusive (e.g. Cartier and Channel).

The architectural design and features provide a pleasant environment. I do not consider myself a shopper; but as a first-time visitor, I found exploring Ala Moana interesting. I even bought stuff.

My suggestions are as follows:

#1 Parking is free. With over 11,000 parking spots, the parking structure(s) are massive. When you park, take note of where you left your car. The parking structure has number, color, and picture prompts to help you. Better yet, remember the first store you encounter as you transition from the parking structure to the shopping center. Most store clerks can give directions based on that.

#2 Wear comfortable shoes.

By the way, Hawaii Magazine published a five-part series titled "Hawaii Survival Guide: Ala Moana Center". You can Google and find it online. It's an easy read, and still useful if you want to plan before your first excursion.

Beautiful mall with a great selection of designer stores, department stores, and other shops. We took our time shopping (spent nearly the whole day here!), admiring the koi fish pond, and discovering some really delicious and affordable eats in the food court. There are plenty of restaurant choices as well. Easily accessible by foot or by bus from Waikiki.

The Center was an easy walk from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, but once we reached the Macy’s end of the mall, it was a very long trek to the Nordstrom and Bloomingdale’s area. We spent about 2 hours total at the Center visiting my favorites- Zara, Uniqlo, Swatch and See’s. Center not too busy at 3-5pm on weekday. Window shopping is excellent here! We should have just taken stairs up at Macy’s instead of staying at parking garage level. Be sure to visit the website first to plan your mall trip.

This place is massive. It is shop till you drop. So many stores to see hard to get to all of them in one day. Food court has something for everyone. I recommend getting a centre map this place is so big it is easy to get lost.

Pretty much the same as any shopping centre anywhere in the western world.
No great surprises.
Could be called Westfield and nobody would notice the difference.
