Fun!

We had gorgeous weather when we visited Bowen's Wharf. There are wonderful restaurants there, and lots of shopping. It's also where you can take several boat tours of the island.

One of many wharfs to visit while in Newport. Varied shops and eating experiences are all right there for every taste and pocket book.

This is a great wharf for fun, drinks and a good time. The Black Pearl has amazing clam chowder and chili and is so worth the stop in. Summer has an open air section that we missed but looks to be great during the summer season.

Quaint and interesting gift shops with unique items including gifts, alex and anni jewlery, clothing boutique. You will also find several restaurants as well. We enjoyed lunch outdoors at The Landing and later my husband and son enjoyed Ben and Jerry's while I sipped a Cappucino From the shop at the end of the wharf by the boats. Such a... More

This small area of Newport has it all: galleries, shopping, drinking and dining. We did it all! Even though it is not the in-season, this place was still hopping. They are doing a lot of re-construction of this area during April 2017, so keep a hand on your young children if you venture into this area.

Bowens Wharf is off the main street near the waterfront in Neport. It is know for it's many shops, but also for the atmosphere of being near the ocean. Cruise ships count this as their first stop. Parking is difficult to find but the paid lots are nearby.

Even if you have no shopping to do, it's a quaint and pleasant place to walk around - so unlike sterile gigantic malls. Within view of water or grass or neat-looking buildings at all times. There is a CHARGE FOR PARKING at most lots. If you keep looking you can find a spot elsewhere. It appears some stores will give... More

Bowen's wharf is a must see for any visitor to Newport. Between the shops and restaurants, you'll find something to amuse yourself with. There's a lot for kids, too, in terms of ice cream, candies, and boats to look at. In the summer there is usually something going on - a band playing or what not.
