We took the Rose Island-Jamestown Ferry to Rose Island. It is staffed by wonderful volunteers who obviously love what they are doing. We were greeted on the dock by a gentleman who gave us a few guidelines and tips; he graciously answered questions throughout our...More

We had a very cool visit to the island. We stayed for a single overnight and we were the only 2 people on the island. Exploring the island was fascinating and the views from the light at sunset were amazing. We did have trouble with...More

Ooooowee, baby. This historic landmark is situated offshore in what feels like the middle of Narragansett Bay. Ships and pleasure craft pass to the west and sailboat races are almost daily all summer. One must reach the lighthouse by boat and the ferry runs fairly...More

Pricey to take the Newport-Jamestown ferry to get there, but you can ferry all around the bay for the rest of the day after an interesting visit to the lighthouse. Beautiful views, interesting history and LOTS of birds.

The $5 cash landing fee is worth every penny. The bosun greets you and gives you a brief intro to the island. The gatekeepers' cottage has been restored to 1912; it provides the access to the lighthouse with its great view of Newport. The beach...More
