Great place to walk and get souvenirs from your trip. The lively bars and restaurants make it hard not to go in and eat / drink even when your not hungry!

Narrow street with a lot of shops. Some of them are quite uniquely local. You can find something you like there.

The street is cute and has not been invaded by many big chain stores, the shops are a little cheesy.

This is a fun cute street. Parking can get tricky. Some parking spaces are $5 for all day. Lots of cute shops and lovely atmosphere.

It is mid-April and a number of shops/restaurants are either not open yet or have limited hours. Many of the shops have chosen not to be open on Tuesday and Wednesday. Just the same there were many places open where a person can spend their money. Don't forget to do both ends of Thames Street and definitely don't forget to... More

Noisy drive with the cobblestone street. This area is a good way to pass a couple hours while looking for treasures to take home. Restaurants, shops, and a nautical museum has something for everyone to enjoy. The harbor is a short walk away, and seagulls love to be fed. Good for children, be sure to watch them along the streets,... More

Not too many shops overall to buy things in, especially with so many outlets nearby. Does have some great restaurants but not a place for shopping or much views.

Went to Newport for the weekend. Unfortunately for us we went on the weekend of the annual St Patricks day parade. We are not into the bar scene so this was not for us. Most of the things we wanted to do were closed because of the parade. Seems the whole town gets into this and businesses close. It was... More

Cute street with lots of shops and restaurants. We were there in the off season so many of the shops and even restaurants were closed. But it was still nice to walk around and window shop - though it was pretty cold the day we were there. It was an easy walk from the hotel we were staying in.
