Thames Street is the major thoroughfare in downtown Newport. Some historic buildings along the road with many shops and restaurants. Deserves a stroll.

Thought this street would be filled with special shops. There were a few nice shops and several very good restaurants, but did not live up to our expectations.

Nor would you want to. Thames is the most prominent attraction to this little NE coastal town. Whether you are walking for a drink, a meal or to see and be seen, cruisin in the car or on a scooter ... you just have to.

Lots to do and see. Good shopping, resturants and sights. It's better in summer but it's always fun.
