A very nice, classic New England beach. Cool water and warm sand. The local version of sea kelp is reddish brown which creates a cranberry colored tide at waters edge. It's natural! Enjoy!

The Cliffwalk and mansions are in plain view from the beach. It's a spectacular sandy spot just on the outskirts of the beautiful town of Newport. There are bathrooms and showers and changing rooms. Lots of parking but it's first come first serve and the...More

The sand at this beach is nice but the red seaweed in the water is disgusting. I went in over my head once and came out coated in the red seaweed. I immediately went and showered. I had to pull the seaweed off my skin...More

Took my kids to beach in Newport. I love this town and beach was great. Location, nice parking, not cheep but clean, restrooms, showers, restaurant, everything what you need and clean and useful. Not a lot of people there, life guards for safety.

Parking is pricy but we wanted to see the aquarium so parking is included in this package. The beach is nice if you don't mind all the red seaweed in the tide as you enter the water. We had a lovely visit to the aquarium...More

am spoiled being from North Carolina. this is a nice beach, but it is not that long, nor wide. the sand is a bit rough as well. and the water temperature--let's just say they think 60 degrees is swimable!

Pack up a picnic and them kids, here's the place to go. This beach is great for all ages, the water is warm and the tides give a safe beach for younger kids to enjoy.

I don't know if it is raked or not. I have been twice in the winter/spring. One time the beach was pristine. The second was a day after a blizzard hit New England. Part of the beach was covered with large clams but the... More
