The cliff walk is an extension out from The Breakers mansion. Its a beautiful walk as the waves are crashing to the shore while you walk. If the breeze is right, it would be a wonderful experience.

A great way to walk off a good lunch and take a break from shopping while visiting Newport. The views of the summer cottages and sea are to die for.

We stayed at The Chanler at Cliff Walk. An old mansion that has been turned into a boutique hotel...and also at the beginning of the cliff walk . I highly recommend to take the walk along the ocean to see all of the old mansions and their beautifully landscaped gardens Newport itself is a cute city right on the ocean... More

Beautiful views of the ocean and mansions. Be sure to wear hiking shies or sneakers, take your time and bring water if you plan to walk the pathway end to end - which is 3.4 miles but I think it's longer. Some terrain is very rugged and dangerous so be prepared you may want to turn back in those sections... More

I guess I may have oversold this attraction; it's a pretty walk, but a lot is just walking along an oceanfront with no particular features... not unpleasant, of course, but not spectacular.

3+ miles one way if you walk it, but you get to see the back sides of many waterfront mansions. wear good shoes as park is over large boulder rocks..not for small children or strollers.

We had guided tour and was fantastic .if you love the water and beautiful picture opportunity . Dog friendly; if you take children be aware of the caution signs.

We took this walk over two day stretch ... opting for the less adventurous portion at sunset and then heading for the real cliff part of the walk at morning the next day. It can be done in one shot just wear the right shoes. It is amazing, slightly difficult at the rocky portions but all worth it from beginning... More

For anyone visiting RI and wishing you could visit Ireland I recommend Newport.. and the cliff walk is a must. You get spectacular views of the mansions and the ocean... there is a forty step walk to the middle of the ocean... and the cliffs look like a scene from Ireland and the cliffs of Moher. It is a beautiful... More

This is a can't miss for Newport visitors and residents! I like to walk on the end of the Cliff Walk because it is often less crowded. I usually park on Ledge Rd and walk it in reverse, that end can be a little more challenging but quieter and very dramatic views!
