This is a beautiful walk that I would recommend to anyone! If you’re visiting Newport you should stop by it.

This is a 2+ mile paved walk along the Atlantic, that hugs the coast and offers spectacular views. Looking inland, there are the famous "Newport Cottages" which are truly mansions from another time, all along the walk. Looking out to the Atlantic, there is a...More

This was one of the first things we added to our itinerary and it lived up to the hype. It's a relatively easy walk, and the scenery is second to none. The shoreline is beautiful on it's own, but with the addition of all the...More

If you want a scenic walk to The Breakers take the Cliff Walk route instead of walking down Bellevue. You'll see excellent seaside views while also getting a peek to other mansions along the way.

You must take this walk on a nice day. You will see the back sides of many of the mansions. No visit to Newport is complete wihout doing the walk.

This is a fairly easy walk at no cost. You will see several mansions, waves and surf. We walked the complete trail, one way (~4 miles), in about 1hour and 40 minutes. Not a lot of elevation changes, but you do run into some patches...More

Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring some water. There is a public restroom along the way. This walk allows you to experience the magic of the Newport Coast and the historic architecture that is part of the rich history.

The cliff walk is the most beautiful walk around the neck of Newport! You can choose how long you would like to walk - there are a few exits along the walk! View are stunning and the nature is beautiful! Amazing mansions along the walk!...More

Walk along and admire the big buildings near by, and dream about what you could do with a little bit of money :)

The weather was great for our 45 trek each way. We walked to the right of the forty steps and the scenery was fantastic. Be warned there are stairs and walking over rocks along the way.

The 40 steps is an extension of the cliff walk and it won’t affect your visit in anyway. Youll be walking along the cliff and come to an area with the forty steps. You have an option to go down them (not up) to the bottom... More

Parking available mid-point near the college as well. Paid parking spots on the street next to the Breakers home. Trolley is a good idea though - it is a long but beautiful walk end to end. Enjoy!
