By Buffalo standards, Elmwood is a gentrified area. But, it is not like a gentrified area in a major city. It is a stable area with relatively inflated property values and small local businesses that are not too special. There is an art festival every...More

Allentown was closed since it was before 11 am so we ventured down to Elmwood Village which was a very long and hot walk from the downtown hotel area. The shops went from over priced boutiques that were snobby and rude to us when we...More

This neighborhood is the best that Buffalo has to offer. From Delaware Park in the north to the border of Allentown in the south, this is Buffalo's premier neighborhood. For decades since The Strip became the hip place to be seen in Buffalo, it has...More

This neighbourhood seems to get better with every visit. The historical era architecture is eye candy, craft beer choices abound and the selection of eateries is very good. We were sorry to see that some of our favourites had closed and some long time fixtures...More

This is a very unique part of town. One street, number of different little shops, coffee places and restaurants. Good for late morning or early afternoon visit and lunch. Nice houses and architecture. Overall, 1-2 hrs stay lunch included.

When you visit Buffalo, you have to go to Elmwood Village. No place better captures the energy and spirit of Buffalo. Friendly people, shops, and boutiques make this such a pleasant and place to be.

Food, clothes, antiques, this large diverse area holds something for everyone. Better in the better weather but still enjoyable on a winter day in Buffalo.

Bad snowy, icy sidewalks prevented us from doing the shopping we had planned. We enjoyed visiting the Co-op and had lunch at Paniera Bread. Too icy to walk to many stores, but did enjoy the ones we visited. Parking is bad.

The Elmwood Village is comprised of many small shops and restaurants so you can walk the streets but will need to check the specific shops you want to visit.
