Since I married an American from North Tonawanda, I have been to Buffalo many times now. You simply have to visit Elmwood. It is a nice area that shows some decay but lots of restoration. There are quirky shops, cafes and galleries. Every time I visit there is something new, and it definitely feels like the place where things are... More

Nicely restored & maintained neighborhood - we stayed at InnBuffalo, a beautiful old house restored to its former glory. Lots of things to do & see in easy walking distance.

Elmwood Village hs been called the "Greenwich Village" of Buffalo. Full of restaurans, boutiques, bars, co-op groceries, galleries, museums, coffeeshops, bookstores, etc. It's easy spending a full day walking the length of Elmwood Ave. Situated close to Buffalo State Univ., the Village is a hangout for college students as well as for young kids and older folk. Over the years,... More

An overnight in Buffalo was on our agenda but with only a few hours in the morning before heading over to Niagara. Elmwood Village was the perfect spot to stop for brunch and a little shopping. Spot Coffee was the best- we loved the menu... More

Some great restaurants, shopping, stuff like that. The co-op market is incredible! We picked up dinner there and ate it on the patio of our B&B. Quite a nice spot.

Just about everything is expensive, but you can keep your wallet in your pocket and still have a great time. But, be warned, the temptation to buy specialty items will eventually draw you in, so plan on making an unusual purchase... More

Visited the Lexington co-op in the village. Very good selection of vegan foods. A lot of organics to choose from. All natural stuff too.

Love the Elmwood Village and the highlight is the Elmwood Art Festival at the end of August. The village has lots of charm. Love the unique shops that are privately owned. Great eateries as well.

Some nice shops and places to eat, but the parking is horrible. Not worth going there because of that
