Formerly named the Isabel Miller Museum, this little museum is a treasure--the only museum in Sitka featuring all of Sitka's history.

A great museum to visit while in Sitka. The museum has lots of First Nation memorabilia that had been collected over many years. Very interesting to see all.

This museum is only a short walk from the dock in Sitka, Alaska. The museum has very nice displays of local birds and wildlife. There is plenty of information about the early days of Sitka. The walk through the museum is unstructured so you can...More

Very Very good museum. There were a lot of old native artifacts displayed in a nice fashion. Well worth the admission.

Unfortunately, this site is not open at the moment, but appears to have great historical value for preserving totem poles and other historical items pertain to Sitka and the Indian natives of this area.

This small museum is full of old Totems from throughout SE Alaska - the real thing- not overly commercial at all. They also offer classes for local residents in some of the traditional forms of carving, weaving etc.

The native culture of the Tlingit tribe is well preserved in this small museum. The clothing was fascinating. Some made from fish skins for lighter wear, but intricately stitched and preserved. The art and crafts were also very intricately designed in beautiful colors.

Don't miss the chance to stroll through history. I had a "moment" at the battleground where I swear I heard native drumming. Slow down and drink in the past, imagine the agony, sense the struggles. Met a passionate Interpretive Ranger on the trails who helped...More
