Great little museum, and gorgeous hike thru the temperate rain forest. Lots of totems, very informational. Easy walk to get there from town, do not need a bus or transport of any kind

Totem park and Museum is a great place to make multiple trips. It's on the bus route and very comfortable inside the museum should it be raining, but with nice trails outside and amazing totems.

A quick walk through the displays and the outdoor trails does not do justice to this park. Allow time to tour with a NPS guide and to listen to the background information about each totem on your smart phone.

This is a very special place and my family and I returned to it several times during our stay in Sitka. The totems deserve a lot of time and attention as does the historical significance of this area. The museum and ranger talks are excellent....More

Went on the walk to see the totems and the setting is just spectacular. Each of the totems has a narration nearby. You can , if you are lucky see someone working on making a totem.

If you come in August, the salmon will be spawning in the river and the bald eagles will be there hanging out with you. You'll get to see them up close and personal.

This park has two components, The Russian bishops house and the totem pole area. Both are worth visiting. However, the unique and special experience occurs walking along the Totem Trail which is behind the park visitor center. The totems are mixed in with the trees...More

The Totem Pole Park is a very short distance from the center of town. You simply walk westward and it may be a 20 minute walk.

We flew into Sitka and self-directed our entire vacation, so I can't speak to what the cruise may offer. However, we walked to the park in the rain from our hotel and did the tour on our own. It is free and self-guided... More
