We caught them just before they went into hibernation for the Winter and what an honour to see such well cared for bears up close. Visit independently if you can (easy to get taxis from town) because those on bus tours only got 10-15 minutes...More

What an amazing experience! Orphaned bears used to human caretakers up close. Wonderful to watch them play, eat and swim. Bring a few extra bucks they deserve every penny donated.

Visited here on a Sitka Tours bus trip pre our cruise. We had an hour here, would have been to long if it wasn't for the owner talking to the group explaining about each bear, how they got there and the role the facility plays....More

Besides the bears, the keepers seem to have madeg friends with a big group of bald eagles that come around to share the fish. A pleasant surprise, very near the bird sanctuary. Easy to do both.

This attraction is located in an old water treatment facility and appears to be quite short on funds. They rehabilitate injured bears but the State of Alaska will not yet allow the rehabilitated bears to be returned to the wild as the raptors currently are....More

It was weekdays only last September so we shared a taxi with another holidaymaker from the bus station. Join the FOTB Facebook page and ask nearer the time whether the bus is running but I doubt a trip would work out any... More

We are 5-6 miles from the Raptor Center. You can reach us by cab, take the local bus (weekdays only) or use one of the shuttle bus services providedo by Sitka Tours or Tribal Tours.
