Ten Thousand Waves is inspired by the great Japanese mountain hot spring resorts. Ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe, but only minutes from the National Forest, there is nothing quite like this on the North American continent. Among piñons and junipers are beautiful outdoor hot tubs and spa suites, world-class bodywork & skin care, and the amazing izanami restaurant. For a lucky few, it is the closest lodging to the Santa Fe Ski area.

"the waves" as residents call it.

LOVELY SPOT!!!!!!! not easily gotten with public transportation. there are many pools to chose from, some private, some according to sex where pool attire is optional.

Mark Our bad! While the new Grand Bath is being tweaked to be even more spectacular (opening 9/23/15), we placed temporary guidance signs around the property, but neglected to post a bathing suit sign at the temporary public tub. I'm sorry you were inconvenienced. More

Linda You'll be happy to know that beginning 9/26 there will be regular bus service from the South Capitol through downtown to Ten Thousand Waves all the way to Santa Fe Ski Area. There will be 3 round trips daily weekdays and 5 on the weekend during fall colors and ski season! More

My girlfriend and I visited as an alternative to the drive to Ojo Caliente and while I feel it is unfair to compare the two - but considering the price to the communal pool and the price of a private tub, we feel happy with our visit. It wasn't the natural mineral springs water, but our private Kobuta (sp?) tub... More

Allen Thanks for your nice words. We try hard to create a Japanese Adobe experience! The water used in the tubs comes from a 900 foot deep well and is highly mineralized. Yes, we do heat it, but half of the hot springs resorts in Japan do the same. More

We reserved a spa tub area for four friends. Even though we only had it for an hour the service both before and afterwards made it feel like we were paying for a whole day there! I want to go back and get a couple of treatments in addition to the tubs because I liked it so much.

This is a place we reserve for special times to get away from regular life. It is a different place where everything from the landscaping, to the sounds, tastes and smells are different. It is a splurge, but one that we make several times a year in order to rejuvenate and refresh. Our favorite time of year is to go... More

always wonderful- but changing as we speak. There is a bigger mixed pool than we saw before- it was out for retileing.. The massages were as masterful as ever. They had the woman's hot tub temporarily assigned to mixed bathing. Forget the clothing optional option- its gone. If that's what you want, rent a private room? tub. But it's a... More

Great upscale Japanese dinning, not your typical Japanese food. Small plates you share around. Don't expect any regular soft drinks.. More healthy choices . You can take a spa treatment and then eat in a bathrobe and only 15 min from downtown.

This is our third visit to 10,000 waves. Love this spa, the head and neck massage and the therapeutic massage are great. I highly recommend the ofuru room, one of the private baths. Schedule your visit at least 2 or more weeks before, this bath is very popular and for good reason!
