We loved both what was inside this wonderful little museum, as well as the architecture of the building itself. Also, don't miss the outstanding little sculpture garden. We enjoyed an extensive Georgia O'Keeffe exhibit during our visit and really enjoyed a relatively wide scale introduction to the New Mexico art history in general.

Great museum with a variety of different exhibits. Well worth a visit, and reasonably priced for the amount of artwork you get to see. Great selection of Southwestern art, and great museum gift shop. Worth a visit!

The museum is just the right size to see all of the exhibits in a single pass. The current (Fall 2015) shows are really good and I particularly enjoyed the architectural exhibit in the back, upstairs and the Southwest Sampler downstairs.

The mounting of paintings is excellent! We saw their Modernism exhibit, which was excellent. Also the Southwestern Paintings were varied and excellent. We also had fun at the Halloween Party they staged.

I was in Santa Fe on a Road Scholar Art Tour. The New Mexico Museum of Art was one of the places we visited. Our main focus was on Georgia O'Keeffe's work, a fairly large exhibition; and we were fortunate to have "our own" docent led tour. The museum itself is very modern in concept and in its choice of... The inner courtyard here is a green haven of grass and beautiful plantings. We went to a special show of modernists here that was put on jointly with the Georgia O'Keefe Museum. There were many of O'Keefe's paintings here and those of her contemporaries. There were also other galleries with western art and other displays. Allow several hours to enjoy... More

The changing exhibitions make the most of both the collection and also the Santa Fe location. The modernism show was outstanding. The collection of southwest paintings by major figures of American art is very good. The docents are extremely helpful. The gift shop was also surprisingly reasonably priced and had quality inventory.

We found this museum to be interesting with a good cross-section of different types of art work. The building itself is very interesting/historical. Some of the presentation areas/themes seemed a little sparse. We did not pay the extra fee for the Georgia O'Keefe section as we had seen a lot of her work on a previous visit to Santa Fe.... More

I find this museum a must visit each time I visit Santa Fe. I have to visit their permanent collection which have become friends. They also have special exhibits that touch on many artistic aspects of the Santa Fe and South West area. The building and sculpture gardens and patios are worth the visit.

This was better than GOK museum because she has her own wing here with more of her work displayed than in her own museum. We happened to go on a Fri evening when admission was free with food served and a jazz group performing. Really nice!
