This is a great little art museum. There is usually an area that changes on occasion and a regular section that highlights New Mexico artists and culture. My first visit had a Black & White photo exhibit. This last visit had the history of the guitar along with a variety of guitars on display. I found this fascinating. My wife... More

Used my 'Culture Pass' as part of the hotel package to visit the Museum of Art. Wasn't overly impressed with art exhibits and at least one of the galleries was closed for redesign. By far the highlight was the exhibition of guitars which made the visit worthwhile. The reconstruction of a 400 year old assembly hall was tastefully done and... More

Museum is totally worth visiting. Interesting exhibits. History of New Mexico is steeped in so many cultures. Spainards, native Americans. Harper girls exhibit I loved. All about the customer & service. Work ethic.

The story behind the building and collection is very interesting. Thank goodness for the amazing artists and concerned citizens that helped establish this museum. The architecture of the building became the mainstay of Santa Fe style. Check their website for special events. Enjoy!

This is a wonderful place. The building is full of Santa Fe charm including a courtyard with beautiful southwest scenes painted on the exterior walls. They always have some important paintings by southwest artists including a good collection of Georgia O'Keefe, Gustav Baumann, etc. Right now in the lower level is a fabulous guitar collection from current rock and country... This was my second visit to the museum. I went especially to see the First Folio, being a big Shakespeare fan and lover of history. Except for the historical value there is nothing remarkable about it. It's just a very old book, open to the page with Hamlet's famous soliloquy, and that's it. Can't see the cover, binding, or any... More

This is a wonderful little museum. I absolutely loved the guitar exhibit and the tribute to Shakespeare's First Folio, even though it truly is all Greek to me. Check out the events calendar, as this museum tends to various free events in its adjoining auditorium. We had the pleasure of seeing a local orchestra performance that was part of the... More

The exhibits were rather small, though well put together. However, they do have a really fun guitar exhibit being display right now. Check out the "Crossroads" guitar!

I just saw the Museum's First Folio exhibit, and while the folio is wonderful, what they did with it was as wonderful. The folio was surrounded with paintings, pastels and drawings of various theater scenes, many of them of Native rituals festivals and dances. Make all performance, even if not theater, connect, because it does.
