Santa Fe's Opera House experience is unlike any I have attended due to it's open air concept. New Mexico provides a gorgeous backdrop for a the acoustical treats you will enjoy. The sounds are amazing and there are no bad seats in the house. Everything is first class from the venue to the gift shop. The evenings there are just... More

I don't know enough about the opera to comment on quality, but we also saw Fidelio, in German, and I think I'd prefer romance languages. What I can say is that the setting is absolutely the most gorgeous setting for a show, with a backdrop of Tesuque Valley contrasting with the rich colors of the famous Santa Fe sunsets over... More

A "must do" when in Santa Fe during opera season. Opera lover or just a casual "now and then" type you must see and enjoy the Santa Fe Opera. From tailgate parties to tuxes and candelabras, you won't want to miss this extraordinary experience.

One of the unique facilities to enjoy opera in the U.S., the Santa Fe Opera House has upped its game in presentations and format. There's nothing more lovely than watching a gorgeous Southwest sunset while taking in a top-notch rendition of both new and old favorite operas. Pre-opera tailgating, or eating opera-served snacks, accompanied by glass or two of wine... More

Go. An outdoor opera house where the acoustics will amaze. The opera is held in the evening so take a jacket, but go to your seat early to watch the sunset go down behind the stage. Opera AND a Santa Fe Sunset ... WOWZAA!

Truly a unique experience. World class music within a spectacular building and glorious landscape. New Mexico allows for a much more mixed crowd than world cities. You'll see tuxedos and flip flops. Don't miss it.

My HS students LOVED the off-season tour of this fantastic big-league opera house! In season, don't miss a performance: outdoors, under the stars,in the desert the highest level art is created here! Picnic with the crowd in the parking lot overlooking peaks and pinion forest! What an experience!

Took our daughter, who studies vocal performance at the university level, to see her first opera. We couldn't have asked for a better evening or performance of Don Giovanni. The venue was cool (due to the open air), had comfortable seating and was surrounded by the hills of Santa Fe. We will definitely return as soon as possible.

Look, if you're not into opera, it's going to be a long evening. But if you are into opera, this is a very special venue, frequently rated one of the top 10 opera venues in the US. Even if you're not into Opera, but you're coming to Santa Fe, consider going to Apprentice Night. Ninety minutes of some of the... More

This is unique building of stunning modern architecture is a wonderful place to watch an opera. The building faces west, so one gets to watch one of the remarkable sunsets of "The Land of Enchantment" and then view an opera. On a good night, one can also see an electrical storm without getting wet or have a tailgate party in... More
