This is a less visited lighthouse due to its small nature. It is pretty weak from a lighthouse design and aesthetic perspective. The point has views of the islands which is nice. Go down to South Beach and explore the tide pools.

public trail that walks to cattlepoint lighthouse. you can park off the street in view of lighthouse and red foxes. easy walk for everyone. Great views of water beach otters and shorebirds and foxes. Locals like to keep it secret, but this spot is a beauty for all to enjoy especially in June and July with foxes everywhere.

We followed the trail through the grassy field towards the little lighthouse on the bluff and were rewarded with great views across the straits to the other islands and mountains in the distance. A steep trail down to the waters edge led us to rocks and tide pools with sea creatures sheltering in the small pools. It's a great spot for a nice walk and exploring.

Drove down from the American Camp National Historic Park. It is a short drive and stopped to hike out to the lighthouse. Then continued to the parking lot at Cattle Point. Spent time looking at the shore birds nesting on the islands in the channels. As I walked back to the car, spotted two bald eagles in the pine trees right across the road. It was a highlight of my trip.

The lighthouse itself is very underwhelming, as it is very small and has fake painted windows on the sides. But the view of the water is spectacular. Definitely worth a visit for just the scenery, and we did see a fox running around the trails.

Very nice views in all directions. You can go up to the lighthouse or down to the beach. Either way, very pretty.

This is a great beach to walk along and explore. We went when it was mid-tide so the tidal pools with sea anemones and all the other fun creatures weren’t accessible. It still was a great place to explore. There weren’t many people there on a Saturday which was great, albeit it is January in the midst of covid. I would definitely come back here.

We discovered this area and hiked and just watched nature go by-the hawks, the foxes, the clouds, the water. Highly recommend this area on your trip to San Juan Island.

The lighthouse is a bit off the road. You can park at the state park with a discover pass. We chose to do this and walk the beach. At the state park, there was a very friendly fox.. I was reading some crackers and the fox followed me around for a good 10 minutes. I did not feed it.. but boy ward it hoping I would.

The lighthouse and park are on a point, so you get to see views from a couple of different angles.

The rocks are a bit rugged up to three lighthouse from the beach, but the views are phenomenal.

We walked back along the path on the road. There is parallel parking just before the park for the lighthouse trail.
