We stopped here before heading out to look for whales. They have a lot of good information for finding & listening to whales. My kids loved the gift shop & went home with stuffed orcas. The museum has some interactive features. There is quite a bit to see & learn about orcas & other sea life. This was enjoyed by... More

This is a cool little museum just steps from the ferry terminal and the whale watching boat berths in Friday Harbor on the San Juan Island. We actually spent about an hour visiting this museum before our whale watching excursion started. Very affordable admission price, and a lot of informative displays. It's not a big place so I wouldn't expect... More

We had about an hour to kill before our ferry departed so we decided to stop in. They had some great information, a few videos to watch and my kids loved the coloring station and learning about the different whale names in the different pods. Was pretty small, so we got through it in about 45 minutes or so. The... More

For 6 bucks a pop well worth it. Watch the video on whale decimation and you may change your mind about cruises!

This place has interactive, educational displays including life sized models of whales and other sea mammals, skeletons, mounted stuffed wildlife, videos, etc. Plan to spend at least 2 hours here. We have seen lots of museums and this was one of the better ones. The museum is housed in an older building and to get up to the main display... More

Stopped in here while killing time before our whale watching trip. I recommend coming here before heading out to view the whales because this is a highly informative museum. Definitely worth a stop!

Nicely laid out, small local museum with lots of information and great little interpretive section for kids. They had a video they played with additional information. It was nice to learn more about the whales of the Puget Sound area and see and read all the exhibits. We enjoyed it!

We love this small museum. Very informational on the whales and really make you want to adopt the orcas. Recommended for families too.

Loved learning more about the whales that inhabit the Puget Sound. It was also nice to support this organization.

I heard (from locals) many people get lost finding this place, so: Get off the ferry. Go up Spring Street (the main drag.) Go to 1st Street & take a right. It's 2 blocks up the hill on the right. A huge whale mural adorns the building. Check the hours before you go. Winter hours are short. Inside, find skeletons,... More
