Come in the winter. The birds are pretty. It's a bit of an effort to get in but worth it. Bring kids to chase the ducks.

We had a great time feeding the ducks, geese, and peacocks. The deer were chilling in their enclosure so we didn't get to see them as much. Great family outing if you have base privileges.

The grounds inside the quadrangle are beautiful with deer, peacocks, and ducks roaming peacefully. The museum itself, has many interesting objects and was an educational place to visit.

My children were able to get up close to all these beautiful animals and even feed the deer. They loved it and any family would love it too. You just need to get a visitor pass first to have access to the base.

First it was difficult to find. Forget GPS. This is within a military installation so some roads are gated. We ended up driving along the base perimeter to find a gate for visitor passes. An hour later after waiting in line to show our IDs, car insurance and registration we wee allowed on and drove to the Quadrangle. I believe... More

We were on the base visiting our son who is there for "C" school. My son, grandson, and I went to the quadrangle so that the grandson could see the animals. We bought several handfuls of the food, for a quarter each, and he loved feeding the peacocks. We also fed the deer, but they were more nervous around us.... More

I've been coming to the quadrangle since I was a young girl. I recently brought my children here to visit. The area is a lovely natural area with brochures on the history of the quadrangle. There are quarter fed machines to purchase food for the peacocks, geese, and ducks that freely roam the area. The Fort Sam Houston museum is... More

It was fun. It's rich in history, but also has ducks, pigeons, deer, and peacocks roaming around that you can feed. They don't allow you to feed them crackers or bread. They have food dispenser there so bring quarters. Visitors: (non-military) Use the Walters entrance and check in at visitors center to get your visitors pass first.

We were greeted by a very rude soldier; when we entered the visitor's center to gain access to go view the Quardrangle. That made our decision not to visit the Quadrangle. I had to explain to my two nine year olds that not all soldiers are like that, and most of the soldiers are very helpful and nice. Will never... More
