Found a parking spot on street at $1.80/hour (up to max 2 hrs) for a short visiting of the colorful cultural market square. There are many colorful display items in the shops to purchase, and grab few special sweet snacks from the bakery/cafe for tasting...More

There is no lack of shopping options in San Antonio, but one of my favorite spots is Market Square. This historic spot is considered to be the largest Mexican market outside of Mexico with tons of colorful shops, live entertainment, rich culture and of course,...More

I found the market a place to go and see while you're in San Antonio and you might buy something but prices are pretty high for what they offer. Some of the food is really good.

It was our first visit. It was extremely hot with 100+ degree temp on Sunday. We walked over to experience it. The indoor markets sell Mexican themed knacks. We didn't purchase any. The outdoor shops sell food and drinks. We purchased cucumber slices for $6.00....More

A lot of shops- great for buying souvenirs and wandering for the day. Yummy Mexican street food. Recommend going on Saturday morning- this is when there are activities on the streets and more fun. Make sure to add this to your list of places to...More

Great for the ladies. Nothing for the guys. Every stand was basically the same overpriced knick knacks.

Used the Hop On Hop Off bus to get there. Lots of tourist shops and food available. We felt safe. A real hispanic feel which we loved.

When in San Antonio you must stop by here for your gifts! Inexpensive items that are unique and not available in mall gift stores. Some items are to big or fragile for international visitors but you are sure to find a wee momento from your...More

We went there to purchase souvenirs from our trip but when we went the market was pretty dead. It could have been because it was during the week but regardless, all the shops sold basically the same thing so we weren't there for too long.

A fun place to shop and dine. We always wind up buying items and eating the wonderful food. Easy to get here on the VIA 301 Trolley. Seniors only pay $0.65 each way.

I agree with a spending cap. I would say for food AND a souvenir-$50. I also would empower them with the phrase "not yet". There are so many high pressure sales going on in this market. Let them know that they are the one in... More

I walked there with a foreign visitor and it was daylight. There were many homeless people along the route and I did not feel overly unsafe but I did not feel super safe either as we walked to and from. I would not walk... More
