You can't get more Texas than Pearl beer. This brewery is a beautiful landmark that stands out when driving on the highways around downtown. The limestone structure is now used for events, excercise classes, a culinary institute and more. You can also learn about the haunted stories surrounding it and about what was once the largest brewery in the entire state. You know it's big if it's in Texas and this is the largest of its kind.

I used to see the Pearl sign and part of the brewery when I was attending Trinity University (many years ago). What a treat to see that this building and space has been renovated into a wonderful area of shopping and restaurants. We had such fun walking around, checking out the stores, and looking at the scenery. The Hotel Emma... More

This restaurant is located in the Pearl brewery district, an upscale part of San Antonio, TX. All of the buildings (including an old, round, stone horse stable!) are charming, clean and very well-maintained. The stores are unusual and fun. The Boiler House restaurant has an eclectic menu, and their Sunday brunch just didn't appeal to us. That being said,we give... More

We remember the Pearl Brewery from when we were kids and now it has been transformed into a sort of destination. There are shops and restaurants and pieces of the old brewery everywhere. It was so great to see various parts of the machinery used in different settings. A must see is the Hotel Emma which houses many parts of... More

What a beautiful place, the transformation is amazing. Very chic buildings with great shops, breweries, and restaurants. Great history of the buildings. The hotel is amazing, a real must see. Pretty pricey, so planning ahead is a must. Check out hotel Emma. The area is redone well.

This is not the 1st time I visit Pearl Brewery, however, this time I was impressed by its growth, finesse and historic value that has been returned to the city after all the restoration that the have made in this place. This place is full of eating options. Home of San Antonio Culinary school, and many restaurants featuring the high... More

This area is now redeveloped into condo, unique and fun local shops and restaurants. We went on a Saturday during a Farmers' Market and it was full of families and their pets. It made us want to live in San Antonio.

Upon entering and telling the hostess we were a party of 2, we were told the tables were reserved for reservations but we could get a beer and sit outside or go to the next door hotel. It was a bit of a turnoff being encouraged to get our beers and leave. Luckily, two seats opened up at the bar... More

The brewery has been closed for several years but now it is a tourist attraction with several restaurants, bars, a hotel and several gift shops. It is only a short drive from downtown San Antonio. It also can be reached on foot by following the Riverwalk North from downtown.

I had never been to San Antonio and was thrilled with our visit. This is at the end of the river walk and I am so glad we came! The Pearl Brewery area has been completely rehabbed. The brewery itself is now a very upscale hotel called Hotel Emma. The interior decorator is an incredible job. It has a library,... More
